Having been founded back in 1882, Watford's time in top division football, really isn't that long compared to many other Premier League teams. Of course, many a Watford fan will hark back to the golden era (1977-1987) of Graham Taylor's management, whose tenure saw the team climb from the Fourth Division all the way to the First Division. Unfortunately, after his departure the team slumped back down the following decade and it wouldn't be until Taylor returned full-time to manage the team, did Watford experience another wave of success at the dawn of 2000, promoting to the Premier League. Now under the guidance of Walter Mazzarri, there's little doubt that the team are sure you to do everything in their power to keep their place in the Premier League!

Watford will have a difficult journey ahead with opening matches against Southampton, Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham all within the first month of the new season. There is little doubt that this North London team will have a difficult start to the Premier League. Pointless to say, this is all the more reason for Watford to challenge their rivals, as many critics are expecting Watford's relegation before the season has even started. However considering the amount of money that now exists in the Premier League, Watford too aren't doing so bad financially, and they've managed to swat away offers for players such as Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo, the former from Leicester offering over £30 million, the latter from a team in China offering £38 million. Suffice to say, the team have even managed to sign Liverpool striker Jerome Sinclair, securing a five-year contract for the player as such, meaning we may see some bite to the Watford team yet!
