The multi-talented Bruno Mars is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist and choreographer. In 2003, at the age of 17 Bruno Mars moved to Los Angeles to start his musical career where he was quickly signed with Motown records in 2004. In 2009, Mars signed with Atlantic Records after hearing him play a couple of songs on the guitar. Before Bruno Mars become a successful solo artist, he was acknowledged as a music producer as he wrote songs for many great artists, such as; Travie McCoy, Sean Kingston, Adam Levine and Flo Rida.
Bruno Mars’s first recorded appearance as a singer was on Far East Movement’s second studio album which was quickly followed by Bruno Mars featuring on artist Jaeson Ma's debut single "Love" in August 2009. His first success as a solo artist started when he featured on and co write, B.o.B's "Nothin' on You" and Travie McCoy's "Billionaire"; which saw both songs reach the top ten on many charts around the world. In 2010, Bruno Mars released his debut album ‘Doo-Wops & Holligans’ which seemed to be a huge hit around the world. The album included “Just the way you are” and ‘Grenade” which both reached the Billboard hot 100 and the album reach number three on the Billboard 200. This album has since sold an astonishing six million copies worldwide.
Bruno Mars signed a worldwide publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis US in 2012. When interviewed by Billboards Bruno Mars stated his albums and songs would be a variety of music including, hip-hop, R&B, soul or rock records. His next album was also a success, “Unorthodox Jukebox” was in the top 10 of many countries around the world while also reaching number one in Switzerland and the UK, becoming the fastest selling album by a solo artist in the UK. At the 56th Grammy Awards, Bruno Mars won the best pop vocal album for unorthodox Jukebox while also being nomindated for Record of the year and song of the year.
In 2014, Bruno Mars featured on Mark Ronson’s “Uptwon Funk” which becomes a commercial success reaching number one in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK and many other countries. Bruno Mars was the twelth highest paid musician of 2013 by earning nearly $19.000,000. He was ranked Artist of the year and thirteenth on the 2014 list of The World’s Most Powerful Celebrities.
