The arenas will be in ten colourful cities, and the stadiums where the summer action will take place are already set to excite fans with their illuminations. Continue reading to discover the venues that will be the playing fields for Euro 2024 football matches.

Exploring UEFA Euro 2024: The Best Cities and Their Stadiums

Germany is the host of Euro 2024; it has already established a firm foundation, which is different from Qatar, which had to create new facilities two years ago for the FIFA World Cup. In 2010, Germany had the advantage of existing stadiums from the 2006 World Cup that were either newly built or remodelled, so there was no need for new structures. If some of these stadium names do not seem familiar, it is because the UEFA executive committee decided to rename eight instead of ten stadiums for sponsorship purposes.

So here we go to the meat of the matter: ten stadiums hosting matches of Euro 2024.

Berlin: Olympiastadion Berlin – 71.000 Capacity

The Olympiastadion in Berlin, which can accommodate 71,000 spectators, is the largest of the Euro 2024 venues and will host the final match on July 14th. This stadium is full of historical events; it was the scene of the FIFA World Cup final in 2006 and the UEFA Champions League final nine years later.

During the group stages, stadiums like these will be overcrowded with fans who will come to see dramatic matches like Spain vs Croatia, Poland vs Austria, and the Netherlands clash with Austria. Therefore, the matches at the famous Olympiastadion in Berlin will be a thrill, too. An elimination round, a quarter-final, and, of course, the final will take place there as well, so the stadium will be a central point for football fans during the tournament.

Munich Football Arena – 66,000 Capacity

The Munich Football Arena, popularly known as Allianz Arena, with its 66,000-seat capacity, is getting ready to host the opening game of the UEFA European Championship between Germany and Scotland. Additionally, there will be some action from the other group-stage games, such as Romania vs Ukraine, Slovenia vs Serbia, and Denmark vs Serbia. This stadium will also be the center of a round of 16 games and a semifinal.

Berlin beams with its historical monuments, while Munich is an artistic city of parks, beer gardens, and more. As football fans arrive in Germany, enthusiastically cheering for their teams on the journey to victory, they also have the perfect chance to discover and explore Munich's vibrant culture.

Cologne Stadium - 43,000 Capacity

At Euro 2024, RheinEnergieStadion will be called Cologne Stadium and will have an audience capacity of around 43,000. This venue is set to host four exciting group matches: Hungary vs Switzerland, Scotland vs Switzerland, Belgium playing Romania, England feeling Slovenia, and an exciting one in the last 16.

Cologne is well known for its magical river cruises, during which we can enjoy the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. This city combines the treasure of history with the liveliness of present life, and visitors will remember it most.

BVB Stadion Dortmund - 62,000

From June 2024 onwards, Dortmund's famous Signal Iduna Park will be known as BVB Stadion Dortmund. To meet UEFA's all-sited requirement, the stadium's capacity has been adjusted. Fans can look forward to four thrilling group matches here: Italy pitching against Albania, Turkey clashing with Georgia, another encounter between Turkey and Portugal, and France playing Poland. Besides, this stadium, which is the home of Borussia Dortmund, will also host a Round of 16 matches and a semifinal game to enhance the spectacle of the tournament further.

Düsseldorf Arena - 50,000

The stadium will be called Düsseldorf Arena this summer, the name where Fortuna Düsseldorf plays Euro 2024. Despite being built at the beginning of the 21st century, it was not given a chance to be a venue for the 2006 World Cup of FIFA.

The Düsseldorf Arena is set to showcase three group-stage battles: Austria against France, Slovakia vs. Ukraine, and Albania versus Spain. However, the build-up of the event is not limited to that because it will be the site for the Round of 16 and a quarter-final match, ensuring fans a strong impression of the modern stadium.
