Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United: Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro injured in a pre-season friendly match.

Manchester United lost 1-2 to Arsenal in a friendly match held in Los Angeles; Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro were injured. Hojlund, who scored the initial goal for United, was suggesting a hamstring problem and Yoro was replaced after he was treated on the pitch for a long time. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus scored for Arsenal to level the score after Hojlund had scored the first goal.

New Setback for Manchester United

Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag was not deterred by the loss and the injuries. After the match Ten Hag said that the level of injuries of Hojlund and Yoro would be known within 48 hours. Hojlund opened the scoring in the 10th minute with the help of Marcus Rashford but he had to be replaced in the 15th minute due to muscle injury. Yoro, who signed from Lille for £52m, also limped off the pitch due to an injury.

“We have to wait 24 hours and then we will hopefully know more,” Ten Hag said to MUTV. ‘We were very cautious, particularly with Leny’, It is sad that he had to be substituted but let us be positive and look at the positive side’.

Match Highlights

United had a promising start with Hojlund's goal but were soon pegged back by Arsenal. Gabriel Jesus scored an equalizer that left Ten Hag questioning its legitimacy due to a suspected offside. Gabriel Martinelli then scored the winner after outmaneuvering United’s young defender James Scanlon.

Despite the defeat, United secured a win in a pre-arranged penalty shoot-out, with Jadon Sancho converting the decisive spot-kick in a 4-3 victory. Mason Mount also displayed encouraging form as he looks to rejuvenate his United career.
