Arsenal showcased their title ambitions with a dominant display against a struggling Sheffield United side, keeping pace with Premier League leaders Liverpool and Manchester City. Mikel Arteta's men wasted no time asserting their dominance, securing an emphatic 6-0 victory at Bramall Lane.
The Gunners took control of the match early on, racing to a commanding four-goal lead within the first 25 minutes. Martin Odegaard opened the scoring, followed by an own goal from Jayden Bogle, and strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz. Declan Rice added a fifth just before halftime, ensuring Arsenal equalled the record for most first-half goals in a Premier League match.
Despite Sheffield United showing some resilience in the second half, Arsenal continued to assert their authority, with Ben White adding a sixth goal with a powerful strike from the edge of the area.
With this convincing win, Arsenal narrowed the gap to league leaders Liverpool to just two points. The Gunners aim to extend their winning streak to eight matches when they face Brentford next Saturday.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United remains rooted to the bottom of the table, 11 points adrift of safety, as they prepare to face Bournemouth in their next fixture.
Arsenal's attacking prowess was on full display once again, as they notched up an impressive 31 goals during their current seven-match winning streak in the league. Mikel Arteta's side showcased their strength on the road, securing their fourth consecutive away victory in the Premier League.
The Gunners' remarkable performance also saw them become the first English league team to win three consecutive away games by a margin of five or more goals. With such a commanding display, Arsenal's superior goal difference could prove crucial as they navigate through the intense title race in March.
