GEORGIA 2-0 PORTUGAL: DEBUTANTS PRODUCE BIGGEST SHOCK OF EURO 2024 TO REACH LAST 16 WITH STUNNING VICTORY

Georgia stunned the globe with a 2-0 win against Portugal which sealed their place in the Euro 2024 knockout round. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored within two minutes, and the second half penalty by Georges Mikautadze put the final nail in the coffin. However, Portugal move to the next round as Group F winners.

The upset of defeating Portugal 2-1 in Gelsenkirchen saw Georgia through to the last 16 in their first major tournament. Georgia struggled throughout the tournament but the victory over Portugal showed that they have character and good tactics.
