Former Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres has attracted interest from top Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea. The Sporting Lisbon hitman's impressive performances in Portugal have reportedly caught the attention of scouts from these English giants.
Gyokeres, who joined Sporting Lisbon in July, has been in sensational form, netting an impressive tally of 31 goals since his arrival. His latest goal, scored during Sporting's recent Taca da Liga semi-final first-leg triumph over Benfica, drew representatives from Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea, who were present at the match to closely observe his performance.
According to reports from The Mirror, Gyokeres is equipped with an £86 million release clause in his contract, indicating Sporting's valuation of the Swedish striker. Arsenal, in particular, showed keen interest in Gyokeres during the match, with manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu prioritizing the signing of a marquee striker in the upcoming transfer window.
Liverpool is actively monitoring Sporting Lisbon's manager, Ruben Amorim, as they search for a replacement for Jurgen Klopp. Representatives from Liverpool attended Sporting's recent match against Benfica, where they were impressed by Amorim's managerial prowess.
Despite Xabi Alonso being considered a frontrunner for the Liverpool job, Amorim's positive impression has prompted further due diligence from the Reds. Liverpool is intrigued by Amorim's tactical acumen and leadership qualities, considering him a potential candidate to lead the team in the future.
In addition to monitoring Gyokeres, Manchester United is targeting reinforcements in midfield, with Royal Antwerp's Mandela Keita emerging as a potential transfer target. The 21-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder has attracted interest from United as they seek to bolster their midfield options.
With concerns over the aging Casemiro and disappointing performances from Sofyan Amrabat, Manchester United sees Keita as an ideal candidate to strengthen their midfield. Despite facing competition from other clubs, including West Ham, Manchester United is keen on securing Keita's services to enhance their squad depth.
