Kylian Mbappe Signs Contract with Real Madrid

In a significant development in the world of football, reports indicate that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe has already inked a contract with Real Madrid, signaling his imminent departure from the French club. The 25-year-old forward reportedly notified PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his decision to leave the club at the conclusion of the current season, with his contract set to expire on June 30.

According to information from Spanish newspaper MARCA, Mbappe's agreement with Real Madrid is slated to commence on July 1, a day after his PSG contract officially expires. The negotiations between Mbappe and Real Madrid are said to have commenced in January, with the deal being finalized two weeks ago, as reported by MARCA.

Despite being the highest-paid player in the history of European soccer during his time at PSG, Mbappe is purportedly willing to accept a pay-cut as part of his move to Real Madrid. However, even with the adjusted salary, MARCA notes that Mbappe's new contract will still see him become the highest-earning player at the Bernabeu.

If Mbappe's transition to Real Madrid is indeed confirmed on July 1, fans may have to wait a bit longer for the official unveiling ceremony. This delay is attributed to Mbappe's commitments with the French national team, as he is set to captain France during the Euro 2024 tournament, scheduled from June 14 to July 14. Additionally, Mbappe is reportedly eager to participate in the Paris Olympic Games, where the men's soccer tournament is slated to take place between July 24 and August 9.

In terms of squad numbers, another Spanish publication, Okdiario, suggests that Mbappe will inherit the iconic no.10 jersey at Real Madrid. Luka Modric, the current holder of the no.10 jersey, is expected to see his contract with Real Madrid expire in June. While Mbappe has traditionally worn the no.7 jersey at club level, this number is already occupied by Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid.

The impending move of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid adds another layer of excitement and anticipation to the upcoming transfer window, shaping up to be one of the most talked-about transfers in recent football history.
