Manchester United 3-0 Leicester City: Bruno Fernandes Leads the Red Devils to an Easy Win

Manchester United played Leicester City on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford and dominated the game, beating the Foxes 3-0 in front of a large audience of 73,800 fans. Interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy led his team to a comfortable victory, with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho. This dominant display has pleased Manchester United fans, who are happy to see Van Nistelrooy leading the team before Ruben Amorim takes up his new position as the manager.

Bruno Fernandes, who was making his 250th appearance for Manchester United, was the first to put the team on the scoreboard in the 17th minute. United captain scored from a smart pass by Amad Dialo just outside the eighteen-yard box, beating Leicester’s defense and goalkeeper to set the tone for a comfortable afternoon. Fernandes was involved in all three goals and came up big in the second half, proving he is a leader—a perfect message for Amorim as he gets set to take charge after the break.

Leicester had their moment of hope when Wilfred Ndidi was one-on-one with United’s defense but was denied by a quick intervention from Andre Onana to ensure that United retained the lead. United extended their lead to two goals in the first half and it was Fernandes who leaped to head a cross from Noussair Mazraoui. In the second half, Defender Victor Kristiansen tried to make a block, he instead put the ball into his net and this gave United a two-goal lead.

In the second half, United were dominant and put the game beyond Leicester's reach with a superb strike from substitute Alejandro Garnacho in the 82nd minute. Garnacho scored for Manchester United after a surging Fernandes’ run, who was back to his best and created the play and also displayed his finishing in front of a packed Old Trafford.

Manchester United fans left the stadium happy not only with the victory but also with the performance of Van Nistelrooy as an interim manager. There is anticipation for a new dawn at Old Trafford with Amorim as the man in the driving seat to continue the development and Manchester United tickets have become in high demand as fans are looking forward to the new era. The Red Devils will next travel to Ipswich in two weeks, while Leicester will have to recharge their batteries for the next fixture as they face Chelsea in their struggle to escape the relegation zone.
