Qatari Sheikh Jassim's ambitious bid to acquire Manchester United has once again been rejected. His formal proposal included as per Fabrizio Romano:
- A total investment of nearly $8 billion upfront.
- Offering more than $6 billion as a final bid to the Glazers.
- A fully cash bid that would clear all existing debt, with no new debt incurred, and a commitment to acquiring 100% ownership of the club, with the Glazers stepping away.
- Distinguishing himself as the only bidder looking to purchase the entire club, rather than a minority stake.
- Pledging $1.5 billion for immediate investment in key areas, such as plans for a new stadium, upgraded training facilities for the first team, community regeneration projects, and potential new signings in the 2024 transfer market.
Following this rejection, the Manchester United board is expected to consider the bid from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who aims to purchase a 25% stake in the club.
