Manchester United Fans Shocked as Ferguson is Accompanied by a Surprise Guest at Old Trafford

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson surprised fans with his choice of company during United’s 5-2 Carabao Cup win over Leicester City. Despite having his ambassadorial deal with United terminated by the new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe due to financial cut measures, Ferguson was seen cheering for his former team. The decision to leave the position, which Ferguson had occupied since his retirement from the manager’s position in 2013, was said to be mutual and his attendance at the first match in charge of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim team demonstrated that there are no hard feelings with the new management.

As Ferguson cheered on his former team, fans couldn’t help but notice him sitting alongside an unexpected companion: A world-renowned cricket player, Michael Vaughan. Vaughan, who led England to Ashes success in 2005, is a lifelong Sheffield Wednesday supporter, though his appearance with Ferguson at Old Trafford was a shock. Reactions on social media followed, while one simply wondered, “Why is Michael Vaughan sitting next to SAF?” while another was more sarcastic and went like, “Poor Sir Alex having to watch the game with Michael Vaughan in his ear.”

Ferguson may no longer be United’s official ambassador, however, he continues to play a role on the team and is currently a non-executive director. This passion he has shown even after taking no official position with the club proves his loyalty. In the last eleven years, five permanent managers have tried to lead United back to the promised land, and in the stands sits Ferguson, a symbol of the past and a beacon of hope for the future.

However, with Van Nistelrooy as the interim manager, fans are waiting to see which formation changes the latter brings into the team. Manchester United has a loyal fan base, and the fans are looking forward to watching new matches as the team has a new manager.

To witness the fervor of this season live from Old Trafford, fans can obtain Manchester United tickets at reasonable prices from the 1BoxOffice,  which provides a platform to book tickets to watch the team live from the stadium. Manchester United tickets will be in high demand as fans look forward to a new tactic under the new manager, and that's why you should buy Manchester United tickets early if you want to attend Old Trafford.
