Mohamed Salah Keeps Future Uncertain as Liverpool Contract Nears Expiry:

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool is not thinking about his future, as he has yet to sign a new contract for Liverpool, and his current contract will expire next year. The Egyptian forward, whose contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, has not disclosed his intentions concerning the future despite rumors circulating about his possible transfer from the club. Salah, who has scored two goals and provided an assist in the first two Premier League games of the season, says his focus is on having fun this season.

The 32-year-old has been tipped to leave the club in the past, especially in the last year when he was subject to a £150m bid from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ittihad last September. However, the forward is not letting these rumors to affect him in any way and he is fully focused on his current objectives. “With time, you get more wisdom,” Salah said to Sky Sports. Before the season I was like, ‘Alright, I have one year left so let’s just play without thinking about the contract, without thinking about anything. ’ I don’t want to think about the next year, I don’t want to think about the future, let’s just play the last year and we’ll see.

Salah signed for Liverpool from Roma in 2017 for £34 million and has since established himself as one of the club’s main players, scoring 213 goals in 351 games. His input was decisive in the team’s quest to break the thirty-year drought of not winning the English Premier League title in the 2019/2020 season. Under Jurgen Klopp, Salah also won the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and FIFA Club World Cup. Now, under new manager Arne Slot, Salah has continued to perform well, pointing to the difference in the tactical systems used by Klopp and Slot.
