Moussa Diaby, Aston Villa’s striker has finally signed the dotted line and will be joining Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad. He is among the list of global footballers such as Karim Benzema, N’golo Kante among others, under the leadership of Laurent Blanc, an ex-Manchester United defender. Diaby, who spent one year in Birmingham after signing for a club record fee in the summer, has signed a five-year deal with Al Ittihad, and the transfer fee is said to be £50 million.

Diaby's Aston Villa Tenure

Moussa Diaby transfer to Al Ittihad follows his transfer to Aston Villa last year from Bayer Leverkusen joining the club for the record signing. He featured in the premier league for Unai Emery’s team last season, starting 25 matches out of 38 and played in 13 more as a substitute. Diaby managed to score six goals in the Premier League, the last one was scored in the match against Bournemouth which ended with the score 2-1 in April.

The Transfer Window Proves to be Busy for Aston Villa

Diaby’s departure comes after the signing of Jaden Philogene from Hull City football club. The summer has been active for the club concerning the transfers; some of the new signings include Ross Barkley from Luton, Cameron Archer from Sheffield United, and Samuel Iling-Junior from Juventus. Unai Emery is also said to be eyeing Joao Felix of Atletico Madrid as his next possible signing.

Diaby departs with Douglas Luiz to Juventus and Omari Kellyman to Chelsea. After the transfer, Aston Villa had to express their gratitude to Diaby for his time in Birmingham through X.

Al Ittihad's Ambitious Roster

Diaby is signing for Al Ittihad side that was fifth in the Saudi Pro League in the previous season. Coached by French football legend Laurent Blanc, Al Ittihad has strengthened its roster with big names in the market such as Karim Benzema, the former Real Madrid star and N’Golo Kante, the prominent French midfielder. Diaby is another good signing for the team, which will add more options in attack as the team targets to perform well in the next season.
