24 Noise Violation Fines Issued for Santiago Bernabéu Events

Since April 26, 2024, the Madrid City Council has imposed 24 noise violation fines on events held at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. These penalties, amounting to a staggering €2.6 million, were directed at the organizers of various concerts hosted at Real Madrid C.F.’s home ground.

Penalty Details and Staggering Total Amount

Initially, 11 fines totaling €801,000 were issued following music events at the revamped Bernabéu. However, the number of sanctions has since risen to 24, with fines ranging between €16,000 and €148,000 per violation. These penalties were enforced under noise and thermal pollution regulations.

City officials stated that all measures were taken "with due diligence" to ensure compliance, urging Real Madrid CF to improve soundproofing to reduce noise disturbances. Performances have been temporarily suspended at the stadium until corrective measures are implemented.

Manuel Carrasco Appeals Against Fines

Spanish artist Manuel Carrasco, who performed at the Bernabéu on June 29, revealed on a TVE program his plans to appeal three penalties totaling €399,000. These included individual fines of €126,000, €144,000, and €129,000.

While Carrasco expressed empathy for residents who filed noise complaints, he emphasized that he had "never" been fined for noise violations in his extensive career. He stated firmly, "In this case, I don’t feel responsible.
