Nottm Forest vs Luton: Checkout the live match updates and scores

Nottm Forest vs Luton: Checkout the live match updates and scores

Moussa Niakhate is back after serving a one-game suspension. Still, Gonzalo Montiel got injured during international duty, and Serge Aurier is uncertain due to an injury from the last Crystal Palace match. Taiwo Awoniyi isn't fully ready to return, so Chris Wood might continue as the striker, though Divock Origi is also a viable option.

Mads Andersen is facing several months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury suffered against Tottenham. He's among five players confirmed to miss upcoming matches. However, Gabriel Osho and the newly signed Andros Townsend have shown promising signs and might be in contention for selection.

Let's take a look at the live match updates now!

First-half begins!!!

The teams have taken the field, and we're almost set to kick off.

  • In the 3rd minute, Wood tries to softly pass the ball to Elanga near the edge of the penalty area, but Luton has many players defending, and they quickly clear the threat.
  • In the 6th minute, it's a missed opportunity! A nice combination play sets up Toffolo on the left wing. His cross reaches Wood, who takes a volley, but Kaminski makes a save to deny the attempt.
  • In the 8th minute, again, a close opportunity! Luton counters and Ogbene delivers a tempting cross right across the goalmouth. Morris and Brown both slide in to reach it but narrowly miss applying the finishing touch.
  • In the 23rd minute, it's a near miss! Luton gets lucky as they struggle to clear the ball from their six-yard box. It falls to Toffolo, but Kaminski makes a crucial save to deny him, and Luton manages to avoid conceding a goal.
  • In the 39th minute, as we enter the last five minutes of the first half, the game is still tied at 0-0. The question is, can either team make a breakthrough before halftime?
  • In the 46th minute, as four minutes got added to the first-half, it's again a missed opportunity! Wood had a golden opportunity! After a smooth and coordinated move by Forest, Aurier slips momentarily. However, he regains his footing and delivers a chip into the six-yard box. Wood rises to head the ball but sends it over the crossbar. While under pressure from Ogbene, Wood had a clear chance and should have done better.
  • In the 48th minute, there's an incredible opportunity! Sangare had a golden chance! An unmarked Gibbs-White manages to latch onto a long ball over the defense. Kaminski saves his powerful cross, and the ball falls to Sangare, who is less than 12 yards from the goal. However, Sangare missed the target, failing to capitalize on the excellent opportunity.

Second-half begins!!!

As the second half began, we witnessed the spirit between both teams. So, who's going to score the first goal?

  • In the 48th minute, it's a goal! It's 1-0 for Forest as they make an impressive start to the second half! Forest goes on the counter-attack, and a clever passing exchange between Gibbs-White and Elanga sets up Wood, who calmly lifts the ball over Kaminski to find the back of the net.
  • In the 51st minute, again, an opportunity missed! Wood had a clear chance! He gets away from his defender to meet Gibbs-White's cross at the far post, but he can't keep his header down from close range. A great opportunity goes begging for Forest.
  • In the 53rd minute, chances are coming for both teams. Gibbs-White wrestles possession from Mengi and takes a shot from the edge of the box. Kaminski has to dive down and push the ball to safety, preventing a potential goal.
  • In the 59th minute, both teams have shown determination in the second half, and Forest leads 1-0 as we approach the 60-minute mark, courtesy of Wood's goal.
  • In the 69th minute, Luton launches an attack at the opposite end, and the ball falls to Nakamba, who tries a long-distance shot. However, his attempt sails over the crossbar, always rising and not troubling the goalkeeper.
  • In the 76th minute, it's Wood who strikes again!!! It's 2-0 for Forest, and it's Wood once more! Elanga impressively dribbles past Kabore and then sends in a tempting cross. Wood goes for it and expertly heads the ball just inside the far post, leaving Kaminski with no chance as he watches it go in.
  • In the 78th minute, Forest makes three substitutions, with Kouyate coming on for Sangare in the first of those changes.
  • In the 83rd minute, Ogbene scores!!! It's now 2-1, and Luton has rekindled hope! Luton sends in a free-kick from the left that confuses the Forest defense. The ball bounces kindly for Ogbene, who brilliantly volleys it into the net. Luton is back in the game!
  • In the 85th minute, there was a long VAR review to check for a possible offside against Ogbene. It's a close call, but they decide to give the benefit of the doubt to the Luton player, and the visitors have now reduced their deficit to just one goal.
  • As 9 minutes get added to the game, in the 92nd minute, Adebayo scores!!! It's now 2-2, and Luton has leveled the score! Adebayo uses his strength to control Lockyer's long pass into the box, outmuscling Worrall and then drills the ball past Turner from eight yards out. The traveling Luton supporters are overjoyed, and rightfully so!
  • In the 94th minute, what an incredible response by Luton! When they were trailing 2-0, it seemed like they were out of the contest, but they mounted a fantastic comeback to level the score.
  • In the 98th minute, Murillo commits a late challenge on Nakamba, and it's clear he deserves the yellow card that he receives.

And that's game time! Luton staged an impressive late comeback to secure a draw against Forest, who had taken a 2-0 lead at the City Ground thanks to Wood's two goals. Ogbene scored in the 83rd minute to give Luton hope, and then substitute Adebayo equalized in stoppage time. With this result, Luton maintains their 17th position in the Premier League table, just one point clear of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Forest drops two places to 15th.
