Paul Pogba Shocked by Four-Year Ban from Football

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been dealt a significant blow after receiving a four-year ban from football for doping by Italy's national anti-doping tribunal (Nado). The ban comes as a result of Pogba testing positive for the banned substance DHEA back in August 2023, following Juventus' Serie A match against Udinese.

The France international, now playing for Juventus after his stint with Manchester United, expressed his disbelief and disappointment at the verdict, stating on Instagram that he considers the decision incorrect and intends to appeal it before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Pogba's suspension will last until 2027, rendering him unable to participate in competitive football until he is nearly 34 years old. This setback comes amidst a challenging period for Pogba, who has struggled with injuries and off-field issues in recent years.

In response to the initial suspension in September, Pogba's agent Rafaela Pimenta emphasized that Pogba had never intended to break any rules and maintained his innocence regarding the use of banned substances.

The ban raises questions about Pogba's future in football, especially considering his limited appearances for Juventus this season and his turbulent journey since rejoining the club in 2022. Despite signing a four-year deal with Juventus upon his return, Pogba's career trajectory now faces uncertainty.

Pogba's career, once marked by promise and accolades, including winning the 2018 World Cup with France, now hangs in the balance as he navigates this challenging period. The football world awaits the outcome of his appeal and the resolution of this unfortunate chapter in his career.
