Ruben Amorim to Succeed Erik ten Hag as New Manchester United Manager

Manchester United is set to fill the managerial position after sacking Erik ten Hag and appointing Ruben Amorim. The 39-year-old Portuguese coach leaves Sporting CP, a team he has taken to great heights in the last four years. Amorim has been well respected in European football and his tactical knowledge impressed different Premier League clubs including Liverpool earlier this year. United owners INEOS moved quickly to sign Amorim as they seek to rebuild the club.

Amorim will officially sign for United on the 11 of November after his last match with Sporting. He signed a deal with the team that expires in June 2027, but there is a clause to extend the contract by one year. Sporting said they will receive €11 million in compensation for the talented manager, who leaves the club at the top of the Primeira Liga. This season, opening games have seen Sporting CP win all; the difference in the current campaign also stands at thirty goals for Sporting CP and only two goals against it.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain as United’s interim manager until Amorim is ready to take charge. He managed the team in the League Cup match against Leicester, which ended in a 5-2 win for the team in the first match after Ten Hag left the club. Amorim will have his first taste of United in action against Ipswich Town on the 24th of November, immediately after the international break. Before he departs for Manchester United, he will have a difficult match against Manchester City in the Champions League on the 5th of November. Manchester United will get a glimpse of his tactical brilliance.

Amorim has an excellent track record going into the Old Trafford stadium. Having taken his first managerial position at Casa Pia, he moved quickly to Braga where he had a successful spell before getting to Sporting CP which was considered one of the most expensive managerial transfers at that time. Since 2020, Amiron has led Sporting to two league titles, including the first in 19 years and three League Cups.

Manchester United fans are looking forward to this new era, and that means that Manchester United tickets for the next games will under high demand. United fans welcome the fresh tactical thinking and dynamism from Amorim and can’t wait to see what is ahead. This is a perfect chance to watch this new chapter in the making unfold at Old Trafford.
