Tottenham 4-1 West Ham: Spurs Bring Down London Rivals to Get Back to Winning Ways in Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur produced a stunning performance when they came from behind to inflict a 4-1 loss on London rivals West Ham United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Mohammed Kudus scored for West Ham, while Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma, Heung-min Son, and Jean-Clair Todibo's own goal put Spurs through to victory. Kudus’ day ended worse when he was given a late red card, which was the last blow to the Hammers’ poor performance this afternoon.

Son Heung-Min was back in the starting line-up and the second half was more or less a one-sided affair for Tottenham. For all their dominance in the first half though, Spurs fell behind in the 18th minute when Kudus scored a goal set up by Jarrod Bowen.

Tottenham continued to push forward, and they equalized before halftime—they fully deserved it. Kulusevski's shot hit both the posts before finally finding the back of the net, giving the home side some much-needed morale boost before the break. Ange Postecoglou’s side started the second half with intent, and Bissouma made it 2-1 before Todibo put the ball into his own net to make it 3-1.

Son then sealed the points with a fine individual effort and finished on the hour mark, after missing three matches through a hamstring injury. West Ham’s anger peaked in the final moments when Kudus was sent off after a VAR review of the fight between the players.

This win puts Tottenham in sixth place in the English Premier League table, five points behind the leaders. West Ham, however, are still placed 14th, four points below Tottenham.

Tottenham’s next match will be against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday followed by a match against Crystal Palace on Sunday. West Ham will play at home against Manchester United as they seek to recover from this defeat.
