Chelsea produced a commanding display at the London Stadium as they cruised to a 3-0 win against West Ham in the Premier League match. The match expected to be an exciting London derby was a one-sided affair as Nicolas Jackson performed the first half with two goals while Cole Palmer added another goal in the second half.
Chelsea dominated the encounter from the starting whistle, and Enzo Maresca’s tactical acumen proved spot on. Jackson put the first goal on the board in the early minutes, taking advantage of some poor West Ham defending to score his first goal. The young striker wasn’t done, however, and just before halftime, he made it two-nil to Chelsea, leaving the Hammers shell-shocked as they went into the break.
West Ham tried to come back in the second half but Chelsea’s backline led by was rigid till the end. The hopes of a West Ham fightback were crushed when Cole Palmer, who has been outstanding since his move to Chelsea, made it 3-0 for the Blues.
Chelsea’s attack was as fluid as ever, and their defense was rock solid, which will be music to Maresca’s ears as his team followed the game plan to the T. The victory sees Chelsea climb the Premier League standings and make them a force to be reckoned with this term.
