The Gunners

Arsenal was not in their best form after Arsen Wenger left the club, and the past season was not an exception, yet the team showed some great progress; as they were too close to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, this progress looks promising for the fans that in certain periods lost faith in the Spanish manager Mikel Arteta. Yet Arsenal has too many gaps to cover before the launching of the 2022-2023 season, and that’s what they are trying to do in the transfer window, as they are trying to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City to cover up the departure of Aubamyang who signed for Barcelona and Lacazet who went back to France. The 2022-2023 season is just about to start let’s wait and see what would the Gunners squad look like?

History

Arsenal FC is one of the most storied clubs in the history of English football. Having been established in 1886, it has amassed a rich history of victories and accomplishments spanning over 129 years. It is largely considered one of the most lucrative teams in the sport. However, the club was not always as prestigious as it is today.

We can trace the roots of this team’s rich history back to its humble beginnings as the Dial Square, a team formed by workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, London. As one of the first clubs to come from the southern portion of London, its matches used to have very few attendees. This resulted in financial struggles, and eventually, bankruptcy.

The team was rescued from debt by businessmen Henry Norris and William Hall in 1910, before being moved to Highbury in North London under the recommendation of Norris himself. Highbury became the long-time home of the team, from September 1913 until May 2006, as it went through dramatic highs and lows throughout the years that followed. In July of 2006, in time for the new 2006-2007 season, the club moved to its new home at the Emirates Stadium.

A particularly important high mark came during the 2005-2006 Champions League when they met FC Barcelona in the final to become the first team from London to reach the championship stage in the contest’s 50-year history. In 2015, Arsenal FC reached the pinnacle by winning the FA Cup Title, defeating Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium with an impressive 4-0 victory. The Gooners finished in 2nd place for the 2015 – 2016 Premier League season and will be eligible for the qualification stages for the UEFA Champions League.
