Buy Famalicao FC tickets for the 2026/27 Season and follow one of the most consistent clubs in modern Portuguese football. Since returning to the top flight in 2019 after 25 years away, FC Famalicão have never finished lower than eighth, and in 2025/26 they set a club record with fifth place and 56 points in Liga Portugal. Home matches are played at the compact, all-seated Estádio Municipal de Famalicão in the Minho region, between Porto and Braga.

The club's success has been built on recruiting and developing young talent, with players such as Pedro Gonçalves, Iván Jaime and Gustavo Sá moving on to bigger clubs. This guide explains how Famalicão sell tickets, what seats cost, where to sit, how to reach the town from Porto and the story of a club that climbed back from the lower divisions to become a fixture in the top half of the table.
Famalicão compete in the 2026/27 Liga Portugal Betclic, an 18-club division that includes Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting CP, Braga and Vitória SC, along with newly promoted Académico de Viseu and Marítimo. Fifth place in 2025/26 was the club's best top-flight finish, but it narrowly missed out on Europe after Torreense, the Taça de Portugal winners, took the available Conference League place.
The season brought change in the dugout. Hugo Oliveira, the coach behind the record campaign, left for Strasbourg in July 2026, and Carlos Carvalhal took over before leaving by mutual agreement in October. The squad was also reshaped, with Gustavo Sá joining Nottingham Forest and Ibrahima Ba moving to Sporting, while new signings arrived from Switzerland, Germany, Hungary and Greece.
Alongside the league, Famalicão compete in the Taça da Liga, the Portuguese League Cup. Their 2026/27 Taça de Portugal run ended early, in the third round.
The league itself is unforgiving. Each club plays the other 17 home and away across 34 rounds, with the bottom two relegated automatically and the 16th-placed side facing a play-off against a Liga 2 club, as Casa Pia did against Torreense in 2026. At the other end, European places depend not only on league position but on who wins the domestic cups, which is exactly how Famalicão's fifth place in 2025/26 fell just short of a European ticket.
Famalicão sell tickets through the club shop, their online ticketing platform and the stadium box office, which opens around two hours before kick-off. For most home matches the process is simple, with members paying around €5 and the general public around €10 for seats in the Nascente stand.
The picture changes for the highest-profile games. When Benfica, FC Porto or Sporting CP visit, the club has restricted sales to members only, using the sponsor-named stands for member allocations. For a supporter without a Famalicão membership, or a visitor from abroad, those fixtures can be impossible to access through club channels, and with a capacity of just over 5,000 there is little room to spare.
A marketplace offers another route. Where 1BoxOffice has listings for a Famalicão match, each one shows the stand, the number of seats and the delivery method before you commit. That is especially useful for the high-demand fixtures where club sales are limited to members.
Planning is easier too. Liga Portugal kick-off times are often confirmed only a few weeks before each round, and many visitors combine a match in Famalicão with a stay in Porto. Seeing seats listed early lets you build a trip around a confirmed match.
1BoxOffice has operated as a ticket marketplace since 2006, with a strong focus on football across Europe and the Middle East. Orders come with a buyer guarantee, payments are processed securely and bookings can be followed from purchase to delivery.
The guarantee is specific. If no alternative is offered and the original tickets are not received, the buyer is eligible for a full refund, and a credit voucher worth 50% of the original order value (excluding fees and taxes, capped at £125) may also be issued. That is the 150% money-back guarantee in practice.
Famalicão are a town club with a strong local following, and the size of the stadium shapes everything about demand. With 5,186 seats, even a moderate rise in interest can fill the ground, and the visits of Portugal's big three regularly push the club to restrict sales to members.
Results against the big three have become a regular feature. Since returning to the top flight, Famalicão have won at Sporting's Alvalade for the first time, beaten FC Porto and Sporting at home and opened the 2024/25 season by beating Benfica 2–0, while recent draws against Porto and Benfica in 2026 showed the side can compete with anyone on its day. That record gives every visit from Lisbon or Porto a genuine sense of possibility for home supporters.
The club's recent record has also raised its profile. Consistent top-half finishes, a reputation for attractive football and a habit of selling young players to bigger clubs have made Famalicão one of the more interesting teams to watch in Liga Portugal.
For most league matches, tickets are available close to the date. For the big three and the Minho derbies, buying early gives the widest choice of seats.
Famalicão are one of the most affordable clubs to watch in Liga Portugal. For regular 2026/27 home matches, members paid €5 and the general public €10 for seats in the Nascente stand. When Sporting visited in September 2026, and Benfica in April 2026, members-only tickets were priced at €10.
Because club allocations for the highest-demand matches are restricted to members, the resale market is where non-members find seats for those fixtures, and prices reflect that. Competitor listings for 2026/27 started from under £10 for some league matches and rose to around £50 for the visit of FC Porto.
Season tickets are also good value. A lugar anual for 2026/27 cost €120 for members, covering all competitive home matches except the Taça de Portugal, with seats in the covered Poente stand.
| Type of Ticket | Typical Price Range (GBP) |
|---|---|
| Liga Portugal (standard fixtures) | £8 – £35 |
| Liga Portugal (Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting CP) | £25 – £90+ |
| Liga Portugal (Minho derbies) | £12 – £45 |
| Taça da Liga | £8 – £30 |
| Season ticket (2026/27 club price, members) | About £100 |
Prices reflect typical ranges and may change as demand and availability shift. GBP figures are converted from euro prices and move with the exchange rate.
For most matches, yes. Famalicão sell tickets to the general public for regular home games, typically at €10 in the Nascente stand, with members paying half that. Tickets are available through the club shop, the online ticketing platform and the stadium box office on matchday.
The exceptions are the highest-demand fixtures. For the visits of Benfica and Sporting in 2026, the club restricted sales to members only, and members must show their membership card at entry. Membership costs €84 a year for men aged 23 to 64 and €48 for women, with lower rates for young people and seniors and free membership for under-16s, plus a €5 card fee.
For visitors who want to see Famalicão against one of the big three, or anyone who wants seats confirmed early, a marketplace is the practical alternative. Where listings exist on 1BoxOffice, each one states the stand and delivery method, so read those notes carefully before buying.
The Famalicão season ticket, known as the lugar anual, is reserved for members and located in the covered Poente stand. For 2026/27 it cost €120 and covered all competitive home matches except the Taça de Portugal. Existing holders could renew in July, with remaining seats offered to other members from the end of the month.
Membership, or becoming a sócio, brings priority and discounts on tickets, and it is the only way to access club sales for the highest-demand matches. With annual fees from €46 for young people and seniors, membership is affordable for supporters who attend regularly.
| Category | Annual Fee | Approx. GBP |
|---|---|---|
| Under 16 | Free | Free |
| Youth (16 to 22) | €46 | About £39 |
| Women (23 to 64) | €48 | About £40 |
| Men (23 to 64) | €84 | About £71 |
| Senior (65 and over) | €46 | About £39 |
| Lugar anual 2026/27 (members only) | €120 | About £101 |
A one-off €5 membership card fee applies. GBP figures move with the exchange rate.
The Estádio Municipal de Famalicão, formerly known as the Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho, is a compact, all-seated ground with numbered seats for 5,186 spectators. Owned by the municipality and opened in 1952, it has four stands, of which the Poente is the main covered stand.
The club allocates stands by ticket type. Season tickets are all in the Poente, regular sales to members and the public use the Nascente, and the sponsor-named Bancada Bwin and Bancada Placard.pt have been used for member sales at the highest-demand matches.
| Stand | Best For | Price Bracket | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bancada Poente | Covered seating and the main-stand view | Season tickets | All lugar anual seats are here; reserved for members |
| Bancada Nascente | Regular match tickets | Lower | Around €5 for members and €10 for the public at standard matches |
| Bancada Bwin | Member allocations at big matches | Mid-range | Used for members-only sales, such as the 2026 visit of Sporting |
| Bancada Placard.pt | Member allocations at big matches | Mid-range | Used for members-only sales, such as the 2026 visit of Benfica |
| Away section | Visiting supporters | Set by allocation | Allocated to the visiting club for each match |
Famalicão's location in the Minho makes many away trips short. Braga, Guimarães, Barcelos and Vila do Conde are all close by, and the club runs organised travel for some away matches. For a trip to Rio Ave in Vila do Conde, for example, tickets were offered at €10, or €15 including the bus.
Away days against the big three carry a special significance. Famalicão's first ever win at Sporting's Alvalade in September 2019, which put them top of the league, and the 1–0 win at Porto's old Antas stadium in 1993 are among the proudest memories for travelling supporters, and a stoppage-time draw at the Dragão in April 2026 showed the club can still earn results against Portugal's leading sides.
Longer journeys take supporters to Lisbon for matches against Benfica, Sporting CP, Estoril, Casa Pia, Estrela da Amadora and Alverca, and to Madeira and the Azores for fixtures against Nacional, Marítimo and Santa Clara.
| Topic | What to Know |
|---|---|
| Away tickets | Sold through the club to supporters, with prices set for each match |
| Organised travel | Bus packages offered for some away matches, such as Rio Ave |
| Minho trips | Braga, Vitória SC, Gil Vicente and Rio Ave are all short journeys |
| Long-distance trips | Lisbon, Madeira and the Azores require longer journeys or flights |

At just over 5,000 seats, every part of the Estádio Municipal de Famalicão is close to the pitch. Choose your stand around the experience you want.
| Priority | Best Option | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best atmosphere | Home sections near the most vocal supporters | Where the singing and flags are concentrated on big nights |
| Best view | Bancada Poente | The covered main stand with a central view of the pitch |
| Family-friendly | Bancada Nascente | Affordable seats, with free membership for under-16s |

The Estádio Municipal de Famalicão opened in 1952 and has been the club's home ever since. Owned by the town council, it was long known as the Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho, and some ticket sites still use that name. Today it holds 5,186 spectators, all seated, with a record attendance of 5,226.
Its size is part of its charm. Supporters sit close to the pitch, and on big nights, when Benfica, FC Porto or Sporting CP visit, the atmosphere is intense for a ground of this scale. For regular league matches, the stadium has a friendly, local feel, with families and long-standing members making up much of the crowd.
The stadium's future has been on the agenda for some time. The club's owners have said the situation needs to be resolved as the team's ambitions grow, and in 2025 plans were published for a rebuild on the current site with around 10,000 seats, at a cost of roughly €24 million and with works expected to take around three years. Until any new stadium opens, the current ground and its 5,186 seats remain the club's home.
The away section is small and separated from the home stands. When FC Porto visited in December 2024, the visiting club received 500 tickets, around 10% of capacity, priced at €13, while central seats in the east stand cost €37 for that match. The home amphitheatre stand sold out its 1,000 season seats, a sign of how strongly local supporters back the club.
Getting there from Porto is straightforward by rail. Famalicão station sits on the line between Porto and Braga and is served by Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, regional and Porto suburban trains. Faster services from Porto Campanhã take around half an hour, while suburban trains from São Bento take around 40 minutes. By road the town is about 36 kilometres from Porto via the A3 and about 20 kilometres from Braga, and Porto airport is roughly 20 kilometres away. Check current timetables with the national rail operator before travelling, especially for evening kick-offs.
The town has a cultural side worth seeing on a matchday visit. The writer Camilo Castelo Branco, one of the giants of Portuguese literature, lived in the parish of São Miguel de Seide in the municipality, and his house is now a museum. The surrounding Minho countryside, with its vineyards producing vinho verde, gives a weekend trip a distinctly regional flavour.
Many visitors stay in Porto, which has the widest choice of hotels and an international airport, and travel to Famalicão on matchday. Braga, with its historic centre and cathedral, is also close by and makes an attractive alternative base for exploring the Minho.
Vila Nova de Famalicão itself is an industrial and commercial town in the heart of the Minho. Arrive early to find food and drink in the town centre before kick-off, and check the route from the station to the stadium in advance.
On matchday the town fills with supporters heading for the ground, and the stadium box office opens around two hours before kick-off for any remaining tickets, though for the highest-demand matches it is wise not to rely on matchday availability.
Famalicão do not publish formal hospitality packages for single matches, reflecting the size of the ground and the emphasis on members and season ticket holders. The most comfortable seats are in the covered Poente stand, where all season tickets are located, and premium options depend on what the club or sellers make available for each fixture.
Pricing for the highest-profile matches gives a sense of the range. When FC Porto visited in December 2024, central seats in the east stand were priced at €37, compared with €5 to €10 for standard league matches, showing how much more the club charges for its highest-profile fixtures.
For a more premium experience, look for listings in the Poente stand or that describe enhanced seating. The visits of Benfica, FC Porto and Sporting CP are when premium seats are most in demand.
| Option | What It Includes | Typical Price Range |
|---|---|---|
| Poente stand seats | Covered, numbered seating with a central view | Mainly season ticket seats |
| Hospitality packages | Not currently published by the club | Not available |
| Big-match premium listings | Seats for the visits of the big three | Varies by fixture |
| Marketplace listings | Varies by listing, where available | Varies by fixture |

With just over 5,000 seats, these are the Famalicão home fixtures that typically see the strongest demand.
| Fixture Type | Why It Moves Fast |
|---|---|
| Famalicão vs Benfica | One of Portugal's big three, with club sales restricted to members in 2026 |
| Famalicão vs FC Porto | A short trip for Porto's large following, putting heavy pressure on a small ground |
| Famalicão vs Sporting CP | Members-only club sales in September 2026 and strong demand from visiting supporters |
| Famalicão vs Gil Vicente | The dérbi minhoto against the club from nearby Barcelos |
| Famalicão vs Braga or Vitória SC | Minho neighbours with large travelling followings |
Delivery method varies by listing, and each one states how the tickets will reach you. The main types are:
Always read the listing notes for the delivery type and any entry requirements before you buy, and keep your phone charged so updates reach you. For members-only fixtures, check carefully how entry will work.
The stadium box office opens around two hours before kick-off, and arriving early gives you time to find your stand and enjoy the build-up. For the visits of the big three, crowds build well before the start, so allow extra time for entry.
Portugal abolished its old Cartão do Adepto, the fan card previously required for certain areas, from January 2022. It was replaced by named, ID-linked electronic tickets for organised supporter zones. Members must show their membership card to enter, particularly for members-only matches, so carry photo identification and follow the instructions on your listing. Only season tickets can be passed to another person under club rules.
Expect security checks at the entrance and travel light, as the club does not publish a detailed bag size limit. Pyrotechnics are prohibited at Portuguese football grounds, and supporters should follow stewards' instructions throughout the match.

Famalicão's history is one of long patience followed by rapid progress. The club was founded by a group of local men including José Alves Marinho, Floriano Portela and Hildebrando Portela, and played in green and white for its first eight years before switching to blue in 1938/39. After brief spells in the top flight in the 1940s, the 1970s and the early 1990s, the club spent a quarter of a century in the lower divisions before new ownership transformed it into one of Liga Portugal's most stable sides.
Famalicão were founded in 1931 to give the town a football club of its own, and within 15 years they had reached the top division. The 1945/46 cup run took them to the semi-finals, where Sporting won heavily, and the following season brought a first taste of top-flight football. The opening of the municipal stadium in 1952 gave the club the home it still uses today.
The late 1970s and 1980s brought two Segunda Divisão titles and periodic returns to the elite. The longest top-flight spell of this era ran from 1990 to 1994, when Famalicão spent four seasons in the Primeira Liga, finishing 15th, 14th, 14th and finally 17th. That team, coached for a time by José Romão and captained by defender José Vieira, produced two famous results: a first ever win over Benfica in September 1992 and a 1–0 win over FC Porto at the old Antas stadium in March 1993, still the club's only league victory on Porto's ground.
For a quarter of a century Famalicão were outside the top flight, spending periods in the third tier. The 2015 Campeonato Nacional de Seniores final, lost on penalties to Mafra, still brought promotion to Liga 2 because both finalists went up, and it marked the moment the club began to climb again. Promotion to Liga 2 in 2015 was a turning point, and the arrival of Quantum Pacific Group, linked to businessman Idan Ofer, in 2018 provided the investment and structure to push on. The group increased its stake to 85% in 2019.
The new owners brought a clear model: recruit young players from across Europe and South America, give them first-team football in a competitive league and sell them on to bigger clubs. That approach has produced repeated top-half finishes and significant transfer income, and it has made Famalicão a regular destination for talented players on their way up. Miguel Ribeiro leads the club's football company as president.
That first season back produced some of the club's most famous results. On 23 September 2019 Famalicão won 2–1 at Sporting's Alvalade stadium for the first time in their history, a victory that put them top of the league after six rounds. They beat Sporting again, 3–1 at home, in March 2020, and when football resumed after the pandemic shutdown in June 2020, Famalicão beat FC Porto 2–1 behind closed doors with goals from Fábio Martins and Pedro Gonçalves. Fábio Martins finished as the league top scorer for the club with 12 goals and Toni Martínez added 14 in all competitions.
The return to the top flight in 2019 was followed by an outstanding first season. Under João Pedro Sousa, a team featuring Pedro Gonçalves, on-loan striker Toni Martínez and Fábio Martins finished sixth and reached the cup semi-finals, losing to Benfica. The 2019/20 cup run was the first sign that the club could compete with Portugal's giants in knockout football: Benfica won the first leg of the semi-final 3–2 with a 95th-minute goal at the Luz, and the second leg finished 1–1. Three years later Famalicão took FC Porto to extra time in the second leg of another semi-final before losing 5–3 on aggregate. Since then Famalicão have finished between fifth and eighth every season, reaching another cup semi-final in 2023 and, under Hugo Oliveira, setting new club records in 2025/26. The record-breaking 2025/26 campaign was the high point. Famalicão opened with a 3–0 win over Santa Clara that put them top of the table, finished with a 12-game unbeaten run that equalled a club record and set around a dozen new club marks along the way, including 15 league wins, 17 clean sheets and the fewest goals conceded in a top-flight season. They did it with the youngest squad in the league, and Gustavo Sá became the youngest player to reach 100 top-flight appearances. Remarkably, one of the side's joint leading scorers for much of the season was a centre-back, Justin de Haas. The model has relied on developing and selling talent, with Iván Jaime joining FC Porto for around €10 million in 2023 and Gustavo Sá moving to Nottingham Forest in 2026.
Famalicão's recent history has been shaped by talented young players who used the club as a platform and by the coaches who built consistent sides. The club does not have a documented tradition of retired shirt numbers.

Famalicão's rivalries are rooted in the Minho, the northern region they share with Braga, Vitória SC and Gil Vicente. The visits of Portugal's big three draw the largest crowds, but the local derbies carry the most regional pride.
Famalicão against Gil Vicente from nearby Barcelos is known as a dérbi minhoto, a Minho derby. The two clubs are close neighbours of similar size, and their meetings carry local bragging rights that matter to supporters on both sides. The fixture is one of the most anticipated home games of the Famalicão season.
Braga, from the Minho's largest city, are only a short distance away and regularly bring a large travelling following. Matches between the two are regional occasions, and Famalicão's rise has made them more competitive in recent seasons.
Vitória SC from Guimarães, another Minho club with one of the most passionate fan bases in Portugal, are also near neighbours. Their visits fill the away section and add atmosphere to the small municipal stadium.
Rio Ave, from the coastal town of Vila do Conde, are among Famalicão's nearest top-flight neighbours. The trip is short enough that the club has offered organised travel for supporters, with a match ticket and bus package priced at €15 for one recent away game. The fixture has no special name, but the proximity gives it a regional edge.
Benfica's visits are among the most sought-after fixtures of the season, with club sales restricted to members in 2026. Famalicão beat Benfica 2–0 at home on the opening day of 2024/25, with goals from Sorriso and Zaydou Youssouf, and came from two goals down to draw 2–2 in May 2026. Famalicão also met Benfica in the 2019/20 Taça de Portugal semi-final, the high point of the club's first season back in the top flight.
FC Porto are close neighbours by Portuguese standards, which means a large travelling following for matches in Famalicão. The 2–1 win in June 2020 and a 2–2 draw at the Dragão in April 2026, earned with an equaliser deep into stoppage time, are among the recent highlights. The two clubs met in the 2022/23 Taça de Portugal semi-finals, and Iván Jaime's move to Porto in 2023 added another connection.
Sporting have a long history with Famalicão, from the 1945/46 cup semi-final to the transfers of Pedro Gonçalves in 2020 and Ibrahima Ba in 2026. Their September 2026 visit was sold to members only. Famalicão's 2–1 win at Alvalade in September 2019 was the first in the club's history at Sporting's ground.
The past five seasons show Famalicão's consistency in the top half of Liga Portugal.
| Season | Summary |
|---|---|
| 2021/22 | Famalicão finished eighth after a difficult start, with Rui Pedro Silva replacing Ivo Vieira in December 2021 while the team was 16th. The recovery was one of the stories of the season. The Taça de Portugal run ended in the last 16. |
| 2022/23 | An eighth-place finish on 44 points was accompanied by a run to the Taça de Portugal semi-finals, where FC Porto won. João Pedro Sousa returned as coach in September 2022. Iván Jaime was top scorer with 11 goals. |
| 2023/24 | Famalicão finished eighth again, with Armando Evangelista replacing João Pedro Sousa in March 2024. The cup run ended in the fourth round. The squad continued to develop young talent for the future. |
| 2024/25 | The season began with the strongest start in club history, three wins from three without conceding, including a 2–0 home win over Benfica on the opening day, and ended in seventh place with 47 points, then the club's second-best finish. Hugo Oliveira took over after the twelfth round. The foundations were laid for the record campaign that followed. |
| 2025/26 | Under Hugo Oliveira, Famalicão finished fifth with 56 points, beating the 54 of 2019/20 to set a new points record, with 15 wins, 17 clean sheets and a 12-game unbeaten run to end the season. They narrowly missed out on Europe after Torreense won the Taça de Portugal. Oliveira left for Strasbourg in the summer. |
The summer business followed the club's familiar pattern. Defender Víctor Rofino arrived from UD Leiria for a reported fee of around €1 million, Pato Salas joined on loan from Club América and young forward Jangeal came from the Paris Saint-Germain academy, adding to a squad built to balance experience with potential resale value.
The academy is central to that model. The FC Famalicão Academy opened in June 2018 with pitches for every format of youth football, player accommodation and space for around 350 young players. Its under-19 side became national champions in 2022/23 and played in the UEFA Youth League the following season, and graduates such as Gustavo Sá have gone straight from the academy into the first team and on to the Premier League.
Famalicão rebuilt in the summer of 2026 after selling Gustavo Sá and Ibrahima Ba, signing Finn van Breemen from Basel, Leny Meyer from Stuttgart, Tamás Szűcs from Debrecen and Georgios Koutsias from Lugano. Captain Ivan Zlobin and vice-captain Gil Dias provide experience, while young midfielder Mathias de Amorim was named the league's best young player for September 2026. The table lists key members of the first-team squad.
