Brentford's 1,725-seat away end opened to Chelsea members with 149 loyalty points on 3 September 2026, and Arsenal's 3,003 went to members with 113 a week earlier. Those two numbers explain more about Chelsea away tickets than any membership brochure: the club sells them to season ticket holders and members only, and for the trips people actually want, a points balance decides who gets one. The rules below come from Chelsea's own 2026/27 ticketing policy, the sale notices for each trip so far and the Premier League's pricing rules, and they also show where a supporter without that balance still has a route in.

Article Summary: Away tickets for Chelsea are sold through the club to season ticket holders and members only, usually in timed windows about four weeks before each match, with the high-demand trips gated by loyalty points that reset every season. There is no general sale. Fans who miss the windows rely on the club's new away exchange, a six-per-season transfer or the resale market, with the risks set out below.

  • Chelsea's 2026/27 away sales so far have opened to members at 117 points (Fulham, 24 August 2026), 113 (Arsenal, 6 September) and 149 (Brentford, 18 September), with each later window five points lower.
  • Premier League away tickets are capped at £30 for adults until the end of 2027/28 after a unanimous vote by the 20 clubs on 19 March 2026; Chelsea's cup tie at Anfield on 28 October 2026 cost adults £32.25 to £36.50.
  • A Chelsea away ticket can be transferred only to a verified member or season ticket holder, at most six times a season, and never refunded.
  • Chelsea's loyalty points for away games come from buying: one point for Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United or Tottenham, three for other league trips and five for FA Cup ties (semi-final and final excluded) and League Cup ties (final excluded).
  • Everton away (17 October 2026) and Sunderland away (8 November 2026) were not sold on points at all: one ticket per season ticket holder in the morning, then one per member in the afternoon.

Chelsea have no European football this season, so the only away ends on offer in 2026/27 are the 19 Premier League trips plus whatever the FA Cup and EFL Cup draws produce. That has pushed more supporters towards each domestic trip, and the club's answer has been tighter controls: ID verification for everyone over 16, a six-transfer cap and a new away ticket exchange. Resale listings for Chelsea tickets tend to appear on 1BoxOffice once the club's windows close and the allocation is spoken for, which is where supporters who fall short on points usually end up.

Who Gets Priority When Chelsea Go Away

Season ticket holders and members are the only people Chelsea sells away tickets to, and the club's 2026/27 ticketing policy states that away tickets will not go on general sale unless Chelsea decides otherwise for a particular match. The policy also sets out how each Premier League allocation is carved up before anyone clicks "buy". Hospitality takes up to 20%, the UK Away Match Ticket Scheme (a season-long away bundle that is closed to new applicants for 2026/27) is removed next, and what remains is split 70% to season ticket holders and 30% to members.

Sales run in four phases. Scheme members receive their tickets automatically about 28 days before the match, then season ticket holders can buy one ticket each, then members can buy one each, and finally both groups can add up to two more if anything is left. In practice the "anything left" phase rarely arrives for a big trip. For Arsenal away in September 2026 the club ran three points-gated member windows between 10am and 3.30pm, then opened a 4pm window for all remaining members, which is the first point at which a member with a low balance could even try.

For home games at Stamford Bridge the club moved to an application window in 2026/27, where members apply over several days and a third party allocates the tickets. Away tickets did not get that change. They are still sold first come, first served inside each timed window, online only, initially one per person, which is why the 10am slot on sale day still matters for away trips in a way it no longer does at home.

Loyalty Points Decide the Big Trips, and the Bar Moves Every Month

Chelsea publishes the points needed for each gated away sale only a few days before the windows open, so the same member can be comfortably inside the cut-off in October and nowhere near it in September. The table below collects every 2026/27 away sale notice published by the club up to 29 October 2026, plus three earlier sales that show where the bar has sat later in a season.

Away match Date Allocation Member windows (points needed) Points earned Adult price
Fulham, Craven Cottage Mon 24 Aug 2026 2,701 117, then 112, then 107, then all members 3 £30
Arsenal, Emirates Stadium Sun 6 Sep 2026 3,003 113, then 108, then 103, then all members 1 £30
Brentford, Gtech Community Stadium Fri 18 Sep 2026 1,725 149, then 144, then 139, then all members 3 £30
Everton, Hill Dickinson Stadium Sat 17 Oct 2026 3,001 Not points-based: season ticket holders 10am to 1.30pm, members 2pm to 5pm 3 £30
Liverpool (EFL Cup), Anfield Wed 28 Oct 2026 6,025 22, then 17, then 12, then all members 5 £32.25 to £36.50
Sunderland, Stadium of Light Sun 8 Nov 2026 3,110 Not points-based: season ticket holders 10am to 1.30pm, members 2pm to 5pm 3 £30
Liverpool, Anfield (2025/26) Sat 9 May 2026 3,058 86, then 81, then 76, then all members 1 £30
Tottenham, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (2024/25) Sun 8 Dec 2024 3,038 65, then 60, then 55, then all members 1 £30
Manchester City, Etihad Stadium (2024/25) Sat 25 Jan 2025 3,065 77, then 72, then 67, then all members 1 £30

Two things stand out. First, the August and September thresholds are inflated because the policy allows the previous season's points to count for any gated sale in the opening weeks of the season, up to the end of the month after Chelsea's first league match, which for 2026/27 meant 30 September; after that, last season's points expire and only 2026/27 points are valid. That is why Brentford needed 149 points in September and the EFL Cup tie at Anfield needed only 22 four weeks later. Second, the three windows in these examples each step down by five points, and the 4pm "all remaining members" window is the only moment a low-balance member sees. Whether any tickets are still available by then depends on the match, and the club does not say.

Not every trip is gated. The policy lists the games the club intends to sell on points where possible: away at Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, plus Bournemouth, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Leeds United, plus the final away game of the season. Everton and Sunderland were sold to any season ticket holder in the morning and any member in the afternoon, and those are the trips a first-season member should be targeting.

How Chelsea Away Loyalty Points Work

A mobile screen displaying the Chelsea FC Loyalty Points breakdown alongside physical ticket stubs for Fulham, Brentford, Everton, Arsenal, and Liverpool away matches outside a stadium.

Chelsea changed the earning rules for 2026/27 and the change matters for anyone planning a season of travel. Home points are now awarded only for attendance, added to the account no later than three working days after the game according to the club's FAQs, subject to attendance being confirmed by the turnstile scan, and no longer for buying a home ticket. Away points still come from the purchase itself. Under the club's loyalty point scheme an away ticket is worth one point at Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United or Tottenham, three points at any other Premier League ground and five points for an FA Cup away tie (the semi-final and final excluded) or a League Cup away tie (only the final excluded).

  • A member who bought Fulham (3), Brentford (3), Everton (3) and the Anfield cup tie (5) by the end of October 2026 holds 14 away points, plus whatever their scanned home tickets added, plus the five-point bonus Chelsea gave to anyone who joined or renewed before 4pm on 31 July 2026.
  • Season ticket holders in the automatic cup scheme received a further 10-point bonus for 2026/27, which is one reason the 70% season ticket allocation clears quickly.
  • Points from an away ticket bought on the club's new away exchange go to the new buyer while the seller keeps theirs, so a seat bought that way counts towards the next sale.
  • A transferred away ticket earns nothing for the person who receives it; the points stay with the original purchaser.
  • The club's FAQs say the season ticket waiting list uses a three-year rolling total, but away sales do not: they use the current season only after 30 September 2026.

The arithmetic is unforgiving for a new member. The one-point reward for the five marquee fixtures is deliberate, so the cheapest way to build a balance is the unglamorous trip: the 2pm Sunday at Sunderland on 8 November 2026 adds three points and the Carabao Cup tie at Anfield added five, while the Emirates derby added one. Everton away and Sunderland away were open to any member, and the only trips a first-season member can plan around with confidence are the ones sold that way.

Which Chelsea Membership Actually Buys Away Tickets

Five Chelsea FC membership cards—Junior Blue (£35), CFC Blue (£45), True Blue (£60), True Blue+ (£80), and Ticket Forwarding (£15)—displayed on a table outside a stadium near a team coach.

Chelsea's membership site in October 2026 lists five products, and only four of them can buy anything. Junior Blue costs £35 (under-16s only), CFC Blue £45, True Blue £60 and the new True Blue+ £80, which adds CFC+ streaming and better retail discounts. The £15 Ticket Forwarding membership exists so that a friend can forward you a home ticket; it cannot buy tickets or earn points, and it does not qualify for away sales or away transfers. Season ticket holders get all True Blue benefits automatically.

For away games the published sale notices separate season ticket holders from members and then gate members by points. They do not give True Blue or True Blue+ an earlier away window than CFC Blue, so paying £60 or £80 rather than £45 buys home-ticket priority and extras, not away priority. That is worth knowing because several guides still imply the opposite. Anyone weighing up the options for Stamford Bridge should read the separate guide to Chelsea tickets without a membership, which covers the home application windows this article leaves alone.

There is also a hospitality route that gets confused with the away sale. Club Chelsea members can apply for general admission away tickets through a ballot that closes several weeks before each match, one per Club Chelsea seat held and up to four in total. That ballot is for hospitality members only; the ordinary member sale has no ballot at all. The Club Chelsea hospitality guide explains what those seasonal packages cost.

What a Chelsea Away Ticket Costs

Chelsea away tickets for Premier League (£30), Carabao Cup (£36.50), and Emirates FA Cup matches leaning on a Chelsea leather wallet with coins in front of a team bus outside a stadium.

Every Premier League away ticket Chelsea has sold in 2026/27 has been capped at £30 for adults (Everton's restricted-view seats were £29), because the 20 clubs voted unanimously on 19 March 2026 to keep the £30 cap for two more seasons, through to the end of 2027/28. The Premier League's statement at the time said away attendance had risen from 82% to 91% since the cap began in 2016. Concessions are set by the host, which is why the same £30 adult seat came with a £17.25 under-17 price at the Emirates, a £10 under-18 price at Brentford and a £20 under-14 price at Sunderland.

Competition Adult price (2026/27) Concessions seen so far Points earned
Premier League away £30 cap until end of 2027/28; £29 restricted view at Everton £10 to £29 depending on host and age band 1 or 3
EFL Cup away (Anfield, 28 Oct 2026) £32.25 to £36.50 by tier, £1 off restricted view Over-65 £24.25 to £27.50, 17-24 £16.25 to £18.25, junior £5 5
FA Cup away Set by the host; Chelsea enter in January 2027 Set by the host 5 (semi-final and final excluded)
Club coach, Stamford Bridge departure £20 to Anfield, £46 to Everton, £51 to Sunderland Same price all ages None

The cap does not apply to cup ties, which is why the Carabao Cup fourth round at Anfield cost up to £36.50 for an adult in a tier-six seat as of October 2026. It also does not apply to resale. 1BoxOffice's own Premier League ticket price index compares season ticket and matchday prices across the division, with resale examples alongside. For the domestic cups, 1BoxOffice lists EFL Cup tickets and FA Cup tickets as the draws are made.

Transfers, the New Away Exchange and the Six-a-Season Rule

An illustration of Chelsea ticket rules and transfer features outside Stamford Bridge, displaying membership verification, a 6-per-season limit calendar icon, a ticket exchange screen on a laptop, and a "No Refunds" notice.

The question Chelsea fans ask most after "how many points" is "can I give my ticket to a mate", and the 2026/27 answer is yes, with conditions the club now enforces. An away ticket can be passed on only to an existing member or season ticket holder who has completed ID verification and does not already hold a ticket for that match. The holder submits the recipient's name and membership number through an online form that opens a few days before the game (12pm on 4 November for Sunderland, for example) and must be used at least 48 hours before kick-off. Each supporter can transfer an away ticket a maximum of six times across the season, and the club carries out digital and in-person spot checks against the form.

The away ticket exchange is new this season and it ran for the first time for the Sunderland trip, opening at 2pm on 26 October 2026 and closing at 3pm on 30 October. The club's FAQs say the exchange will close seven to ten days before each fixture to allow resold tickets to be reissued, and that it opens only to supporters who were eligible to buy in the original sale. The seller keeps their points, the buyer earns points, and the club decides match by match whether to run it. Concession tickets can only be transferred to someone entitled to the same concession.

  • Refunds: none. Every 2026/27 away sale notice states that away match tickets are not refundable.
  • Delivery: most away allocations are digital and emailed a few days before the match (from 2 September for the Arsenal trip, from 12 October for Everton); Brentford's were posted first class. They do not sit in the club app like home tickets.
  • Duplicates: a missing ticket must be reported to the ticket office by a stated deadline, usually noon on the Friday before, and can only be collected at the away ground by the person named in the booking, with photo ID.
  • ID: the policy requires every supporter to carry photographic ID with their away ticket, and online ID verification is being phased in for everyone over 16 before they can access tickets at all.

Selling a Chelsea away ticket outside those channels is a different matter. Under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 it is a criminal offence to resell a ticket for a designated football match in England and Wales without the organiser's authorisation, and that applies to selling at face value as much as above it. Chelsea reported in May 2026 that it had suspended more than 16,000 memberships for ticket misuse in 2025/26, three times the previous season's 5,000, and that up to 80,000 bots were being blocked per game at the point of sale. Those numbers are why the transfer form exists: a ticket passed on any other way can be cancelled, and the member who bought it can lose their membership.

Buying Without Points or Membership: What Is Actually Possible

An infographic overlaying a stadium entrance showing ticket options—Club Purchase, Membership, Non-Gated Games, Away Ticket Exchange, Resale Market, and Hospitality—with a Chelsea fan looking at ticket offers on a laptop and mobile screen.

The honest answer is that the club route to a gated game is narrow. A non-member cannot buy an away ticket from Chelsea at all, and a new member with five bonus points will not reach the opening windows of a points-gated sale in their first autumn; they may qualify for a later all-members window if Chelsea announces one and tickets remain. What a new member can do is buy the non-gated trips (Everton and Sunderland this season), watch the away ticket exchange for any match they were eligible to buy in the first place, and build points from there. For everything else the remaining option is the resale market, where season ticket holders and members list seats they cannot use, and a few things need saying plainly about it.

Resale tickets for a Chelsea away end are tickets that were issued to a named member, and Chelsea's May 2026 touting update is explicit that supporters who buy through unauthorised channels should expect to be refused entry. The club's spot checks and ID rules now cover away games, so a buyer should expect a real possibility of a name check at the turnstile and should read the seller's terms before paying. On 1BoxOffice the 150% money-back guarantee covers one specific case: an order where the tickets never arrive and no alternative is offered is refunded in full, and a goodwill credit voucher worth 50% of the order value, excluding fees and taxes and capped at £125, may be issued on top. A ticket found to be invalid is refunded at face value excluding fees. Refusal of entry by the venue on a valid ticket is not covered, travel costs are never covered, and any entry problem has to be reported to 1BoxOffice immediately: the terms rule out compensation where contact is made more than 20 minutes after the event start time. Prices above face value are normal on the secondary market and are shown before checkout; buying on social media or through an unverified seller offers none of the above.

Sitting in the home end is the other route people ask about, usually after seeing hospitality packages advertised for the fixture. Those seats sit in home areas, most hosts restrict away colours in hospitality (the rules vary by venue and lounge) and stewards can and do remove visiting fans who celebrate. That is the home club's decision, not Chelsea's, and it is the reason the away end remains the only seat a travelling Chelsea supporter can relax in.

Buying a Chelsea Away Seat on 1BoxOffice

A football supporter outside a stadium using a laptop to browse Chelsea away tickets on 1BoxOffice while holding a smartphone displaying order confirmation steps.

Listings for a Chelsea away end usually appear once the club's sale windows have closed and the allocation is spoken for, which for a Premier League trip means roughly three weeks before kick-off. The process is the same six steps for every trip.

Step1

Find the away fixture
Open the Chelsea listing and select the trip, checking the host stadium and the date. Premier League kick-off times move for television up to a few weeks before the match, and the club warns supporters not to book travel until a ticket is confirmed.

Step2

Create an account or log in
Set up an account by registering with 1BoxOffice so your delivery details and order history are saved before the seats you want are gone.

Step3

Select your seats
Filter by section and price. For an away trip, check that the block named sits inside the visiting enclosure of that ground (the Clock End corner at the Emirates, the Anfield Road corner at Anfield) rather than among home supporters, where a Chelsea fan may be refused entry or removed.

Step4

Review the order
Confirm the fixture, quantity, section and delivery method shown at checkout. Chelsea's 2026/27 away tickets are mostly digital and released by the club only a few days before the match, so expect delivery close to matchday and check which format the listing promises.

Step5

Complete payment
Pay securely to confirm the order. The 150% money-back guarantee covers non-delivery without an alternative, on the terms set out above.

Step6

Track the order
Follow delivery progress through Track Order, and on matchday carry photo ID, since the club's policy requires it at every away ground.

Buying From Abroad: the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Beyond

A Chelsea fan sitting outdoors with a view of the Dubai skyline and Burj Khalifa, holding a smartphone showing a "Chelsea Away Tickets" purchase screen. A passport, flight ticket to London Heathrow, coffee, and Chelsea scarf rest on the table beside him.

Chelsea sells memberships to supporters outside the UK and the points rules are identical, so a member in Dubai with 120 points is in exactly the same position as one in Fulham. The practical obstacles are different. Sale windows are published in UK time, so the 10am opening is 1pm in the UAE while British Summer Time runs and 2pm from late October, with Saudi Arabia and Qatar one hour behind that. ID verification may be carried out digitally or in person, and the club asks members to check the date of birth on their account before it starts; the policy allows the club to ask for proof of a transport booking for non-UK fixtures only, so a Gulf-based member buying a Premier League away seat is not asked for flight details.

Supporters' clubs are the other lever. Chelsea's ticketing policy sets aside an allocation for Platinum-status supporters' clubs before the season ticket holder and member split on cup trips, under the club's separate supporters club policy, which is why overseas branches push their members to affiliate before the summer deadline. Beyond that, the club's overseas travel partners sell hospitality packages to fans outside the UK, but those are home-ground packages at Stamford Bridge, not away ends. For a visiting fan whose dates are fixed, the realistic choice is a resale away seat or a home-ground visit, and the delivery timing matters: a digital away ticket released two days before kick-off needs an email address and a phone that work on arrival in England.

The 2026/27 Away Trips Still to Come

A smartphone showing upcoming Chelsea FC fixtures resting on a table with a physical away match ticket stub, a coffee cup, and a travel map displaying UK stadium pin locations, with a stadium skyline at sunset in the background.

Fourteen Premier League away games remain after the Sunderland trip, and the club's sale notices will follow the pattern above: about four weeks before each match, with the points bar published a few days ahead of the windows. The dates below are as listed on 1BoxOffice on 29 October 2026 and will move for television.

Fixture Date Venue Expected sale type
Sunderland v Chelsea Sun 8 Nov 2026, 2pm Stadium of Light Sold: one per season ticket holder, then one per member
Nottingham Forest v Chelsea Fri 27 Nov 2026, 8pm City Ground Not on the gated list; sale notice due early November
Manchester City v Chelsea Sat 12 Dec 2026, 5.30pm Etihad Stadium Points-gated, one point earned
Coventry City v Chelsea Sun 27 Dec 2026, 2pm Coventry Building Society Arena Not on the gated list
Ipswich Town v Chelsea Wed 30 Dec 2026, 8.15pm Portman Road Not on the gated list
Crystal Palace v Chelsea Wed 6 Jan 2027, 7.30pm Selhurst Park Points-gated, three points earned
Leeds United v Chelsea Sat 23 Jan 2027 Elland Road Points-gated, three points earned
Manchester United v Chelsea Sat 6 Feb 2027 Old Trafford Points-gated, one point earned
Newcastle United v Chelsea Wed 10 Feb 2027, 8pm St James' Park Not on the gated list
Aston Villa v Chelsea Sat 27 Feb 2027 Villa Park Not on the gated list
Hull City v Chelsea Sat 20 Mar 2027 MKM Stadium Not on the gated list
Brighton v Chelsea Sat 17 Apr 2027 Amex Stadium Not on the gated list
Liverpool v Chelsea Sat 1 May 2027 Anfield Points-gated, one point earned
Tottenham v Chelsea Sat 8 May 2027 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Points-gated, one point earned
Bournemouth v Chelsea Sun 23 May 2027 Vitality Stadium Points-gated as the final away game

The club has not published a threshold for any of these yet, and past seasons are only a guide: in 2025/26 the Liverpool trip opened to members at 86 points and the final-day game at Sunderland at 92, both on a full season's balance, and the policy lists Bournemouth away and the final away game of the season among the points-gated sales. Supporters planning the reverse fixtures should read the matching guides to Arsenal away tickets, Liverpool away tickets, Manchester United away tickets and Manchester City away tickets, since each club runs a different points system and the Chelsea rules above do not carry across.

Checks Before You Pay for a Resale Away Ticket

A laptop showing a stadium seating map with the away section highlighted in blue next to a "Buy Tickets" button, set alongside a checked travel checklist notebook, a smartphone displaying a digital ticket QR code, and a passport outside a stadium.

  • Confirm the block is in the away section of that ground and not a home area dressed up as "near the away end"; the host club's own away-fan page names the blocks.
  • Ask when the ticket will arrive. Chelsea releases away tickets to members only a few days before the match, so a listing that promises instant delivery for a game three weeks away should be questioned.
  • Know the guarantee terms before paying, including what happens if the name on the ticket is checked at the turnstile.
  • Do not book non-refundable travel on the strength of a listing; the club gives season ticket holders the same advice.
  • Keep the away ticket exchange in mind: a member eligible for the original sale can buy a returned seat at face value through the club up to seven to ten days before the match, and that route avoids the risks that come with unauthorised resale.

FAQs

1. Do Chelsea loyalty points reset every season?

  • Yes for ticket sales: Chelsea counts the previous season's points only for gated sales up to the end of the month after its first league match (30 September in 2026/27), after which only current-season points are valid, while the season ticket waiting list uses a three-year rolling total.

2. Can a child go to a Chelsea away game without an adult?

  • No: Chelsea's policy requires anyone under 16 to attend with and sit next to someone aged 18 or over, and hosts set their own limits on top, such as 13 and under at the Emirates and under-14s at Everton.

3. Does Chelsea run coaches to away games?

  • Yes: club coaches leave Stamford Bridge and Newport Pagnell for most away games, priced £20 to £51 per person in October 2026, and can only be booked by supporters who already hold a match ticket.

4. Can a Chelsea away ticket be bought over the phone?

  • Only for accessible tickets: every 2026/27 away sale has been online only, with the club's access team taking phone applications solely from supporters who need accessible or personal assistant seats.

5. Do Chelsea Women away games earn loyalty points?

  • No: Chelsea's loyalty points page states that points are not awarded for Chelsea Women matches, domestic cup finals, the FA Cup semi-final or academy and friendly games.

Getting into a Chelsea away end through the club takes a membership, patience and a points balance built on the trips nobody else wants. For the supporter without that balance, 1BoxOffice offers listings for Chelsea's Premier League away fixtures, subject to availability, under its 150% money-back guarantee, with the block, delivery timing and price shown before any payment is taken.
