That is the maximum balance the club allows, and it rewards the supporters who travelled to all or nearly all of last season's away league and cup matches. By the time a window reaches 1,150 points (15 away trips in 2025/26) the window is subject to availability and the chance of a ticket becomes increasingly uncertain, which is why Aston Villa away tickets are among the hardest in the Premier League to obtain through the club itself.
Article Summary: Villa sell away tickets to Season Ticket Holders in descending Away Points bands, then to all Season Ticket Holders if any remain, then, where the club runs one, through a small ballot open to Season Ticket Holders and Adult or Junior members. There is no general sale. Adult Premier League away tickets cost up to £30 at face value, cup prices are set by the host club (£32 at Coventry, £25 at Bournemouth), and every ticket is digital, named and non-transferable.
- Aston Villa Season Ticket Holders start on 1,000 Away Points plus 10 for each away Premier League or domestic cup match attended in 2025/26, to a club-stated maximum of 1,210.
- The Manchester United trip on 8 November 2026 (3,103 tickets) sold in bands of 1,210+, 1,180+ and 1,150+ before an all Season Ticket Holders window on day four, and six of the ten 2026/27 notices have announced or been followed by a members' ballot.
- The Premier League £30 adult away cap was extended on 19 March 2026 to the end of 2027/28.
- Barcelona away in the Champions League (3 November 2026) cost €50 and required a passport number on every ticket.
- The Adult membership costs £50 and the Junior £30 as of November 2026, and both give ballot access only, not a sales window.
This guide sets out who the club actually sells to, what each 2026/27 window has looked like, how the points are earned and lost, what the Champions League trips demand, and what is realistic for a supporter with no points at all. For home matches and the other routes to a seat, Aston Villa tickets on 1BoxOffice cover Villa Park and the rest of the season.
Who Villa Actually Sell Away Tickets To

The selling order is published match by match on the club website, and the sequence for domestic matches has not changed since the Brighton trip in August. Online and phone sales open at 9.30am, usually on consecutive weekdays, in this order:
- Day one: 2026/27 Season Ticket Holders with 1,210+ Away Points.
- Day two: Season Ticket Holders with 1,180+ Away Points.
- Day three: Season Ticket Holders with 1,150+ Away Points, usually marked subject to availability.
- Day four: all 2026/27 Season Ticket Holders, subject to availability.
- After that, where the club makes one available: a limited ballot for Season Ticket Holders and supporters with an active Adult or Junior Membership.
The timing is not always four separate days. For the Carabao Cup tie at Coventry the club ran two windows on Friday 4 September (9.30am for 1,210+, 2pm for 1,180+) and two more on Monday 7 September (9.30am for 1,150+, 2pm for all Season Ticket Holders), so a supporter who assumed a day-per-band pattern would have missed their slot. Each notice sets its own clock. The ballot is not always in the notice either: neither the Brighton nor the Coventry notice mentioned one, yet the club's ticketing account on X announced a Brighton ballot on 7 August and a Coventry ballot that ran from 8 to 11 September, both entered through the ballots page on the club ticketing site. Hull, by contrast, was announced as having no ballot at all.
Two phrases in those notices carry the weight. "Subject to availability" means the window only opens if tickets are left, and the club takes tickets off sale for 15 minutes before each such window to count what remains. "One ticket per eligible Fan ID" (the Fan ID is the supporter number attached to each person's Villa account) means every seat has to be assigned to a named individual who qualifies in their own right, with a maximum of 10 tickets in one transaction.
The club made its priority explicit in its 27 May 2026 ticketing announcement. Where allocations allow, it will ensure there are enough tickets for supporters on 1,180 points or more, "meaning they attended at least 18 of our 20 away matches in 2025/26", to attend a similar number this season. Everyone below that line is buying what the top bands leave behind.
The Points Bar for Every 2026/27 Away Sale So Far

The table below covers every men's away ticket notice the club published between July and 4 November 2026. The allocation, the adult price and the selling order are as published; results are included because the cup exits shape what is left to play for.
| Away match | Date | Allocation | Adult price | Windows published | Ballot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brighton (Premier League, lost 4-0; notice 24 July) | 23 August 2026 | 3,103 | £30 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, over four days | From 7 August (announced on X) |
| Hull City (Premier League, drew 0-0) | 5 September 2026 | 2,459 | £30 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, over four days | No ballot (confirmed by the club) |
| Club Brugge (Champions League, won 3-2) | 8 September 2026 | 1,470 | £43 (€50) | Six European attendance windows across two days (see below) | None announced |
| Coventry City (Carabao Cup round three, won 3-1) | 16 September 2026 | 3,149 | £32 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, two windows a day over two days | 8 to 11 September (announced on X) |
| Tottenham (Premier League, won 3-2) | 19 September 2026 | 3,038 | £30 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, over four days | From 28 August |
| Newcastle United (Premier League, won 1-0) | 17 October 2026 | 3,214 | £30 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, over four days | From 25 September |
| Bournemouth (Carabao Cup round four, lost 3-0) | 28 October 2026 | 1,352 | £25 | 1,210, 1,180+, 1,150+ only, over three days | None announced |
| Barcelona (Champions League, lost 3-0) | 3 November 2026 | 2,987 | €50 | Four European attendance windows over four days (see below) | None announced |
| Manchester United vs Aston Villa tickets (Premier League) | 8 November 2026 | 3,103 | £30 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, over four days | From 16 October |
| Ipswich Town vs Aston Villa tickets (Premier League) | 28 November 2026 | 3,000 | £29 | 1,210+, 1,180+, 1,150+, all Season Ticket Holders, over four days | 6 to 13 November |
Three things stand out. The Premier League allocations at large grounds sit at or just above 3,000, which is the minimum a ground over 30,000 must offer visiting supporters, so Villa are not being short-changed at Old Trafford or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; the pressure comes from the size of the travelling support, and Hull's 2,459 shows what a smaller ground means. Six of the ten notices have announced or been followed by a ballot (Brighton, Coventry, Tottenham, Newcastle, Manchester United and Ipswich, whose ballot opens on 6 November); Hull was ruled out by the club, and none was announced for Bournemouth or either European trip. And the sales deadline is tight: Ipswich at Portman Road closes at 4pm the day before the match, with duplicate ticket requests due by the same time.
The club does not publish the band at which each match sold out, and a ballot announcement says nothing about how many tickets, if any, reached the all Season Ticket Holders window. Read the windows as the order of priority, not as evidence of what was left at each stage.
How Away Points Are Earned, Capped and Lost

The formula is printed on every away ticket notice. All Season Ticket Holders are granted 1,000 loyalty points, plus 10 points for each away Premier League or domestic cup match attended during the 2025/26 season, to a maximum of 1,210. Supporters can see their balance in the Away Points tab of their online account.
| Away Points balance | Away matches attended in 2025/26 | What it bought in 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|
| 1,210 | The club's stated maximum | Day one of every domestic sale, including both cup ties |
| 1,180 to 1,200 | 18 to 20 | Day two; the club's stated protection threshold |
| 1,150 to 1,170 | 15 to 17 | Day three, usually marked subject to availability |
| 1,000 to 1,140 | 0 to 14 | Day four if anything is left, otherwise the ballot |
One figure in the club's own material does not add up neatly. The 27 May announcement describes 1,180 points as "at least 18 of our 20 away matches in 2025/26", while every ticket notice gives 1,210 as the maximum, which at 10 points a match implies 21 counted away matches. The club has not explained the gap, so this guide treats 1,180 as 18 away matches attended and 1,210 simply as the ceiling, without stating how many matches it represents.
Two rules cost supporters points without them noticing. First, buying a ticket does not earn the 10 points; attending does. The Bournemouth notice states that any supporter who purchases a ticket but does not attend "will not be credited with the 10 away points", and the Ipswich notice repeats it. Second, the balance is rebuilt each season from the previous one. A supporter who stops travelling for a year drops straight back to the 1,000 base, whatever they did the season before.
Points are also only available to Season Ticket Holders. A member who attends away matches through the ballot builds a booking history (the record of matches bought on a Fan ID) but no Away Points, because the 1,000 base is never granted to a membership.

Does an Aston Villa Membership Get You Away Tickets?

Not through a sales window. As of November 2026 the club sells an Adult membership at £50, a Junior membership at £30 and a Video membership at £30, and only the first two carry any away access at all. That access is the ballot, where the club makes one available, which the notices describe as "a limited number of tickets" open to all Season Ticket Holders and supporters with an active Adult or Junior Membership. Members enter it alongside every Season Ticket Holder who missed out, so it is a draw, not a queue, and the Hull trip shows a ballot can be withheld altogether.
The club has not published how many tickets go into each ballot for 2026/27. Its own answer to "Does membership guarantee tickets?" on the membership page is no, and that applies with more force to away matches than to home ones. The membership's real value this season is at Villa Park, where the North Stand closure has pushed every home sale into the members' window; the Aston Villa tickets without a membership guide covers that side.
Ballot timing follows the sale, and the announcement may come on the club's X account rather than in the notice. For Manchester United it opened on Friday 16 October, two days after the final points window. For Ipswich it runs from 9.30am on Friday 6 November to 9.30am on Friday 13 November, so a member who wants to enter needs the club's ticket notice in their calendar rather than a reminder from a friend.
What a Villa Away Ticket Costs

Adult Premier League prices are the easy part. Premier League clubs voted unanimously on 19 March 2026 to extend the £30 cap on adult away tickets for two more seasons, to the end of 2027/28. The cap applies to the face value the host club charges, not to resale prices. Cup prices are set by the host too: Coventry charged £32 for the Carabao Cup third round and Bournemouth £25 for the fourth, while Villa's own £25 adult cup price, frozen for a third season, applies at Villa Park. Concessions move from ground to ground for the same reason.
| Competition and example | Adult | Concessions as published | Coach from Villa Park |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premier League, Brighton (August 2026) | £30 (£29 restricted view) | Over 66 £26; Under 21 £26; Under 18 £18 | £34.50 |
| Premier League, Tottenham (September 2026) | £30 | Over 66 £25; Young Adult 18-25 £25; Under 18 £18 | £31.50 |
| Premier League, Newcastle United (October 2026) | £30 | Over 65 £27; Under 21 £27; Under 18 £22 | £35 |
| Premier League, Manchester United (November 2026) | £30 | Over 66, Under 21, Under 18 and Under 16 all £29 | £30 |
| Premier League, Ipswich Town (November 2026) | £29 (£28 severely restricted view) | Over 65 £26 to £27; Under 23 £22 to £23; Under 19 £11 to £12 | £35 |
| Carabao Cup, Coventry City (September 2026) | £32 | Over 65 £27; Under 21 £27; Under 18 £20 | £18 |
| Carabao Cup, Bournemouth (October 2026) | £25 | Over 65 £20; Under 21 £20; Under 16 £10 | £35 |
| Champions League, Club Brugge (September 2026) | £43 (€50) | None published | No coach |
| Champions League, Barcelona (November 2026) | €50 (about £42) | None published | No coach |
Against those figures, Villa's own home match tickets for Sunderland on 21 November 2026 run from £49.50 to £62 for an adult, so an away day is the cheaper ticket by some distance, before travel. The Premier League ticket price index sets the £30 cap against what every other club charges at home, and Premier League tickets on 1BoxOffice show what resale prices look like for the same matches.
Champions League Away Trips: A Different Ladder Entirely

Away Points do not apply in Europe. European sales run on how many of the previous season's European matches a Season Ticket Holder attended, home and away, excluding the final, and the bar moves with the allocation. For Club Brugge on 8 September 2026 (1,470 tickets) the first window on 1 September was for supporters who attended 7 home and 7 away Europa League matches in 2025/26, and six windows ran across two days down to 3 home and 2 away. For Barcelona on 3 November 2026 (2,987 tickets) the ladder started lower and ran over four days:
- 1 October: attended 5 home and 4 away Europa League matches.
- 2 October: 4 home and 3 away.
- 5 October: 3 home and 2 away, subject to availability.
- 6 October: 2 home and 1 away, subject to availability.
Hospitality and GA+ Season Ticket Holders (GA+ is the club's upgraded general admission seat with added benefits) sat on the same ladder and were placed in Block 331. There was no ballot, no membership window and no concession price at either ground. Delivery differed: Brugge tickets were downloaded through the host's Jan Breydel app using an emailed registration number, while Barcelona issued PDF tickets no later than 24 hours before kick-off. Spanish regulations required a full name and passport number on every Barcelona ticket, so a mandatory supporter details form had to be completed for each person by 12pm on 23 October or the ticket was cancelled, and names and passport numbers were checked at the turnstiles. Attendance counts towards the criteria for later Champions League matches; a ticket bought and not used is not credited.
Two further trips follow in the league phase: Galatasaray vs Aston Villa tickets for 24 November 2026 in Istanbul and Slavia Prague vs Aston Villa tickets for 27 January 2027. The club's notice for Galatasaray had not been published as of 4 November 2026, and the ladder may tighten as attendance at the Fenerbahçe and Viking home matches is added to the criteria.
One more thing hangs over the European trips. In June 2026 UEFA fined Villa €10,000 for a discriminatory banner at the Europa League final and imposed a one-match ban on selling tickets to away supporters, suspended for two years. A repeat incident in that period would activate the ban and empty a Villa away end for one European match. Champions League tickets on 1BoxOffice cover the resale side of both remaining away dates.
The Cup Route Is Not the Shortcut It Used to Be

Domestic cup ties are often described as the way in for supporters with fewer points, because allocations can be larger and demand lower. The 2026/27 evidence says it depends entirely on the allocation. The Carabao Cup third-round tie at Coventry carried 3,149 tickets at £32 and reached an all Season Ticket Holders window on its second day. The fourth-round tie at Vitality Stadium carried 1,352 tickets, opened at 1,210 points exactly, and listed no fourth window and no ballot. Villa lost 3-0 there, so the EFL Cup tickets route is closed for this season.
That leaves the FA Cup tickets route from the third round in January 2027. An away draw at a lower-league ground with a large away allocation is the one scenario where the windows can run down to all Season Ticket Holders and a meaningful ballot, as happened in 2025/26; an away draw at a Premier League rival with a small away end will look like the Bournemouth sale. The draw and the allocation decide it, not the competition.
Buying Without Points or Membership: What Is Actually Possible

For a supporter outside the Season Ticket system, four routes exist, and none puts you in the away end with certainty:
- Join as an Adult or Junior member and enter each ballot, accepting that the odds are not published.
- Join a Lions Club (one of Villa's recognised supporters' branches), which can book a small number of tickets for its own members and runs its own coaches.
- Buy a hospitality seat at the host ground, which carries no membership requirement but places you in a home-club area under the host club's own conditions, which usually bar visible away support; the Aston Villa hospitality guide explains how the equivalent works at Villa Park.
- Buy from the host club's own home-end sale, which is not an away ticket at all. Every Premier League club applies the rule Villa print on their Sunderland notice: tickets are for home fans only, and anyone found to have bought for away supporters loses the right to buy future tickets.
The last two routes are the ones that catch people. A Villa supporter in a home block or a home hospitality area may be refused entry if identified, and can be removed from the ground for celebrating a goal; the person whose account bought the ticket can be sanctioned by their own club. Neither route is recommended for anyone who wants to support the team openly, and nothing on the resale market changes that.
Digital Tickets, ID Checks and Sitting Together

Every 2026/27 away ticket is digital, but the format varies by host. Most Premier League notices say tickets are emailed in the week before the match; Hull specified PDFs, Barcelona issued PDFs with passport checks at the turnstile, and Brugge used the host stadium's own app. There is no routine collection option for domestic trips. Duplicate requests must be made to Villa by the published deadline, usually 4pm on the last working day before the match, and photo ID is required for any pre-arranged duplicate collection, not for ordinary turnstile entry at domestic grounds. Tickets are non-refundable and, in the club's words, "sold strictly for personal use and are non-transferable".
Sitting with friends therefore has to be arranged at the point of purchase. Up to 10 tickets can go through one transaction, each assigned to a different eligible Fan ID, and every Fan ID in the basket has to qualify for the window that is open. A supporter on 1,210 points cannot pull a friend on 1,120 into day one; the friend waits for day four or the ballot and takes whatever seat is left.
Villa's home-ticket notices now carry a resale and sharing facility for members, and Season Ticket Holders can share or exchange home seats without charge. None of that applies to away tickets, which have no club exchange at all in 2026/27.
Buying a Villa Away Seat on 1BoxOffice

Ticket options for Villa's away matches on 1BoxOffice depend entirely on what sellers make available, and genuine away-section stock is scarce for the reasons above. Where a ticket option exists, the process is the same six steps for every trip.
Step1
Find the away match
Open the Aston Villa ticket options and select the trip, checking the host stadium and the date. Premier League kick-off times move for television, as Manchester United did when its 8 November match was set for 4.30pm, so do not book travel until the ticket is confirmed.
Step2
Create an account or log in
Set up an account by registering with 1BoxOffice so your delivery details and order history are saved before the seats you want are gone.
Step3
Select your seats
Filter by section and price. For an away trip, check that the block named sits inside the visiting enclosure of that ground rather than among home supporters, where a Villa fan may be refused entry or removed. If the ticket option names a home block, treat it as a home seat and decide accordingly.
Step4
Review the order
Confirm the match, quantity, section and delivery method shown at checkout. Villa's 2026/27 away tickets are released by the club only in match week and in whichever format the host uses (email, PDF or a stadium app), so expect delivery close to matchday and check which format the ticket option promises.
Step5
Complete payment
Pay securely to confirm the order. Every order is backed by the 150% money-back guarantee: a full refund if your tickets are not received and no alternative is offered, plus a goodwill credit voucher of up to 50% of the order value (excluding fees and taxes, capped at £125) that 1BoxOffice may issue at its discretion. The 1BoxOffice terms and conditions set out what is and is not covered: the guarantee addresses delivery of the ticket, it does not guarantee admission, and refusal of entry by a venue is not covered.
Step6
Track the order
Follow delivery progress through Track Order, and on matchday carry photo ID, since every domestic notice this season has required it for duplicate collection and Barcelona checked passports at the turnstile.
Buying From Abroad: the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Beyond

A supporter in Dubai or Riyadh can buy an Adult membership online and enter the ballots, but cannot earn Away Points without a Season Ticket, and cannot reach the European ladder without having attended last season's Europa League matches. Where a host club requires it, as Barcelona did, a passport-number rule adds a second hurdle: the ticket is generated only after the supporter details form is completed, and the name on the passport presented at the turnstile has to match it. Brugge asked for no such detail and delivered through its stadium app, so each European notice has to be read on its own terms.
The realistic plan for an overseas Villa supporter is to build the trip around a home match. Villa Park tickets on 1BoxOffice cover every home date, the Villa Park seating plan shows which stands remain open while the North Stand is rebuilt, and an away trip can be added if a ticket option appears for the right date. Villa's own site publishes in Arabic, which helps with the club's notices, but the ticket account and the supporter details form are in English.
The 2026/27 Away Trips Still to Come

Domestic ticket notices have appeared between two and five weeks before each match this season (Brighton on 24 July for 23 August; Coventry on 3 September for 16 September), and European notices as little as a week ahead (Brugge on 1 September for 8 September). The Premier League trips that remain after Ipswich, in no particular order, have resale ticket options at the links below, subject to availability:
- Liverpool vs Aston Villa tickets, Arsenal vs Aston Villa tickets, Chelsea vs Aston Villa tickets and Manchester City vs Aston Villa tickets: the four trips most likely to sell out inside the top two points bands.
- Everton vs Aston Villa tickets, Sunderland vs Aston Villa tickets and Leeds United vs Aston Villa tickets: long trips north with allocations near 3,000.
- Fulham vs Aston Villa tickets, Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa tickets and Brentford vs Aston Villa tickets: London grounds where the away allocation is smaller because capacity is below 30,000.
- Coventry City vs Aston Villa tickets on 13 December 2026, Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa tickets and Bournemouth vs Aston Villa tickets: a Midlands return to the ground of the cup win, a short trip and a return to the ground that ended the cup run.
Checks Before You Pay for a Resale Away Ticket

Unauthorised resale of football tickets in England and Wales is an offence under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, and Villa's own policy removes all booking and loyalty history from any supporter caught selling an away ticket. The practical consequences land on the buyer as much as the seller, so five checks are worth the time:
- Confirm the block is in the away section of that ground; the sister guides for Manchester United away, Liverpool away, Arsenal away and Tottenham away name the visiting blocks at each stadium.
- Ask how a digital, named ticket will be delivered, since Villa's away tickets are emailed to the original buyer in match week.
- Expect photo ID checks at any duplicate collection, and passport checks where required, as at Barcelona.
- Read the guarantee for what it covers (non-delivery) and what it does not (refusal at the turnstile).
- Compare the price with the £30 cap and decide whether the match is worth the premium before, not after, the kick-off time is confirmed.
FAQs
1. How many Away Points do you need for Aston Villa away games?
-
Every domestic away sale in 2026/27 has opened at 1,210 Away Points, then 1,180, then 1,150, with lower balances reaching a window only when tickets remain.
2. Can Aston Villa members buy away tickets?
-
Adult and Junior members can only enter a limited ballot where the club makes one available after the Season Ticket Holder sale, and the club does not publish how many tickets it contains.
3. When do Villa away tickets go on sale?
-
Villa publish each domestic away notice two to five weeks before the match and open the first window at 9.30am, as with Ipswich (notice 29 October, first window 2 November, match 28 November), though some notices run two windows a day.
4. Is there an Aston Villa away ticket exchange?
-
No club exchange exists for away tickets in 2026/27; the resale and sharing facility introduced this season covers home matches at Villa Park only.
5. Do Villa Away Points carry over to the Champions League?
-
European away sales use a separate ladder based on how many of the previous season's European matches a Season Ticket Holder attended, so domestic Away Points play no part.
Getting into a Villa away end through the club is easiest through the priority sales system for experienced Season Ticket Holders, with the ballot a slimmer chance for members. For the supporter without that record, 1BoxOffice offers ticket options for Villa's Premier League and Champions League away matches where sellers make seats available, subject to availability and under the 150% money-back guarantee, with the block, delivery timing and price shown before any payment is taken.
